I have been taking prozac for about 10 years to help with my panic attacks and anxiety. I had been doing great. Almost a year ago, I started having attacks again. Now, I am anxious all the time and had to start taking Xanax almost daily. I am just so scared that I am not going to be able to find anything else that helps. I've been to several counselors and they all just say to change my way of thinking, which I am working on. But, in the midst of a panic attack, it's hard to focus on that. Has anyone had a med to quit working and then found a different that helped?

(((((( Denise )))))))))) Med changes can be scary I know but sometimes they are necessary for our health. I have changed meds many times.

So sorry you are going through this .... I have to tell you I was on Prozac for years and it was fine, but this latest episode of depression (started almost 2 years ago) it made me really really bad ... I cant say why, I just dont know ... doc changed my anti depression tabs ... been better since ... prozac made my anxiety and depression worse ... they actually upped my dose to start with and i had very bad thoughts .... maybe you should change your meds, I may be wrong .... just wanted to tell you ...

good luck, hope you feel better soon ... Jinnyann xoxoxoxoxo

Thanks to all. I went to the doc and got a prescription for celexa today. I have to ween off the prozac for the next week and then start taking the celexa. I really hope it works. I guess that is one of the reasons that I am scared to switch is that I am afraid nothing else will work like the prozac did. Keep me in your thoughts and prayers.

Well, I started on the 10 mg of Celexa. I've been on it for 3 days and so far, I haven't noticed much of a change. I know I have to keep taking it and it takes a while for it to work. I just hope it works. I appreciate all of the support and advice.
