Does anyone know if Straterra will have a generic soon? I can’t pay the kind of prices that my insurance covers. It is $60.00 for 30 days "with insurance" and I am still stepping up on my doses.

Hey Angel, I called a pharmacy and the pharmacist told me that the patent on Straterra won't expire for about 5 more years. She said that until then the generic version can't be produced. After the patent expires, IF the drug is popular enough, then a generic company might put in a bid for the generic patent. Sorry hun but according to the pharmacist it's gonna be a long while. If it makes you feel any better, I've got 6 rx's and NONE have a generic counterpart out yet.

Thanks Ryan, well I guess I can try alternative medicine or something. Does anyone use any homeopathic herbs, or anything like focus factor etc? I want to feel normal without going broke. Generic

What about ordering from Canada? Have you looked into that?

Have you talked to your doctor about having trouble afford it? A lot of time they have coupons or free samples. Ely Lliy has been very aggressive marketing Straterra so I bet they have coupons.

Your Doctor may also be able to write the precription out differently to save you money too.

That is a good idea Ryan. Does anyone have any legitimate websites I could check out? A lot of these sights, many people get ripped off. I will also ask my doctor for more samples, but that won’t help me for long term treatment. Good idea though livingwithadd…

Thanks everyone for your help.

Thank January for the Canada idea. She told me about it before. I don't know any websites, but you might google it.

You may qualify for the patient assistance program. Check it out at www.needymeds.com for all the patient assistance programs available in the U.S.

Just want to welcome all 3 of you fairly new members: Angel10. livingwithadd, and T MD. You've come to a good place in your life.
