I use a day planner (I have to remind myself to use it!) and a watch that has vibrating alarms (I work in a call center, so beeping isn't a good idea) to remind me about medication. I also try to note how long it takes me to do something or go somewhere. I am one of those "early people" (I think I've done this out of an irrational "phobia" of being late) and I am getting better about not getting places quite so early, but not cutting it extremely close either.

Try writing down your routine for a couple of days. Write down what you do and how long it takes to do it. Once you have an idea of that it will be easier to "schedule" your day and manage your time. PM me if you want a bunch of ADHD sites I have found helpful. They often have great tips for different ADHD "issues".

i have a hard time with time management too. i have been using a timer when i do things and actually stop when the timer goes off. I also got a BlackBerry so I can track my time, take notes, and there's a Mood Journal application where you can keep track of your mood, weight, sleep, and medications. I've also been keeping journals. I did tell them at work to add 1-2 hrs to any time estimate I give and to check on me every now and then to make sure I'm working on what I should be. lol.

thank you all so much!! wow, my teacher, who also has adhd, told me about the alarm thing!! sounds like a good idea i know i need to try something lol so maybe i will give that a try. and the schedule thing is good too i randomly write out plans or things i have to do during the day and at what times but i never thought of recording how long it actually takes me todo something, or all of the things that i did that were unnecessary or taking away from what really needed to be done. very helpful advice. thank you!

Posting here so I won't lose this thread because if there ever was an issue I need to improve it is time management. I do what I am interested in doing when I am interested in it. Which sometimes is fine like when I decided I would no longer live my life in bug repellent being eaten alive by fleas so for two days my son swore I was manic as I cleared every bit of clutter that was giving the fleas hiding places and then I bombed the house and still yet was not done but sprinkled flea dust all over the furniture and floor. Or sometimes I have a passion to learn about cosmology and spend hours reading about it. Which is good because I am learning and enjoying myself but the problem is when something uninteresting NEEDS done like grocery shopping or laundry I simply don't do it until I have not a single clean (or semi-clean) piece of clothing or nothing in the fridge to eat.

When I finally posted my disclaimer because folks at other communities were giving me heck about it people here started saying they were all wondering if I had developed an OCD or something but everybody was too polite here to ask me. LOL

I had been using Opera when they key died but my son kept whining everytime I check my email you are logged in waaahhhh. Got tired of hearing the whine so started using Mozilla Firefox so I could be logged in on my browser and he could be in his. Funny thing was I then realized Firefox had a spell checker which has nearly solved the vowel problem.

Must.... sell.... model.... horses.... to.... buy.... new.... laptop.... Only problem there is my retarded laptop no longer recognizes any of the drives so not sure how I am going to transfer pics from camera card to computer.

And yes ADHD is one of my problems...

time management

I think one of my cats is bipolar because at random times we hear her racing through the house, into the living room, jumps on me in my chair then onto the back of the chair and then into the closet where she is doing what???? Then repeat scenario. Always the same exact path. Do cats get bipolar, ya think? Mine certainly has some manic behaviors.

My son likes Opera because you can lock those tabs so they won't accidentally close. Nice feature.

Oh my!!!! No wonder my cat is so strange. My son and I both have ADHD and bipolar so our cat doesn't stand a chance.

The horse though is calm no matter what. Once I was riding him and he stepped on a cat and it squacked and I tensed thinking he would probably freak out and bolt or something but he just kept his slow melodic walk going and didn't miss a step. The cat sure took off fast and I'll bet he'll never wander under the horse's feet again. LOL

Yeah my son is like why have you got so many tabs open and I'm like, hey I'm a busy girl and posting in multiple conversations. Things to do. People to see. But when he does it he is IMing people while talking to people on Xbox live so that is more cool I suppose. Kids.
