I realize that I need to post 5 times to be able to post etc., but I am having a hard time not knowing if this ADHD I have had all my life pretty much. I am 56 and I'm desperately trying to find a counselor. The Adderall does seem to make thoughts etc. worse. I'm really not sure what's right or wrong. Please help! Pam

I have a lot of mental noise also. Personally I think my mental noise is fairly constant whether I'm on or off the adderall. For me though the adderall seem to make it easier for me to choose or disconnect from the loops that are not life-giving/enhancing and better tune into the loops that are more productive. I think choosing a three pronged approach (talk therapy/adderall/bodywork) to stablizing my chaotic life was the best approach for me. BTW this three pronged approach was not prepackaged for me..I had to be active and self-driven to create it for myself.

Who prescribed the adderall? Did you see a psychiatrist? They are usually the ones that can best diagnose you.
