Anyone had any experiance with this. I'm currently on 36mg Concerta 1 time a day, and get really exhausted around 4pm. Drained. Switching to Vyvanse, unsure of dosage yet. Any suggestions?

What dosage did your doctor prescribe? I would just go with that to start and check back with him/her if it is too much or not enough. I am on Vyvanse and find it helpful.

RE feeling exhausted--are you getting enough sleep? I say this because it is a constant struggle for me to get enough sleep and sometimes I think my stimulant med is helping me most by keeping me awake. That isn't its purpose, though, it's supposed to help me be more focused, less distracted, etc. So I think I could help myself out a lot by somehow improving sleep. I don't think an ADHD prescription is supposed to be helping a person be less tired.

Doc prescribed 36mg, but now changing to 70mg Vyvanse. Yes, my sleep may be an issue. I run a business from home and sometimes find myself up late, but not often. I just felt unually tired around mid day. My doc said he thought that my dose needed to be adjusted according to my weight, and of course, try a new medication. Since I'm bodybuilding my weight usaully stays around 230lbs, and I stay very active. I think maybe I was metabolizing it quickly. Plus its been hot. 100 degrees plus out here. That can make one tired. Thanks for the reply Sunrise.

Thank you for that insight. Hopefully my body responds well to it. I'll keep everyone posted.

So far Vyvanse has been a dud. I feel spaced out. This is day 3, and I am highly unproductive. Hopefully this changes. I had high hopes for this phase of therapy.

Sorry to hear that--I know you had your hopes up. I think 70 mg is a pretty high dose. (I take 20-30, on the low end.) I did find that the Vyvanse helped me right away, I didn't have to wait weeks for an effect. Is your main reason for switching off the Concerta because it wears off around 4 pm? If so, could you take a "chaser" about 4 pm with a short-acting version? There are days when in addition to my Vyvanse, I take a quick-acting generic of adderall in the late afternoon. Helps me retain focus a bit longer. Best of luck!

Starting to feel it a bit more, Thanks I'll ask my doc about that, a "chaser." Just need to be focused. I was allover the place today, as is usual for me. Scattered. Trying to organize.

I used to have a four o'clock slump until I started drinking more fluids during the day. I first noticed the change when I was in a situation where I was drinking more and suddenly realized I was not experiencing the low I was used to. The hot temperature would certainly make me think that more liquids would help you. Good luck. Seedychap
