I cannot stop talking, which I understand is common.. but:

Does anyone know a website or resource to learn to stop it. I try some things but my mind is a mess so it's not so easy.

After a quick google, I pretty much found... nothing.

The only things I did find were along the lines of, "Is this a sign of ADHD?" Uh, yes. Yes it is. Or the other option: just don't talk so much! Uh yeah, not very helpful. At. All.

I can really only offer my sympathies to you at this point, and I can really relate. I find myself blurting out the most insanely personal tactless things over and over again. I get so embarrassed and frustrated and just hope that whoever I'm talking to doesn't think I'm a complete psycho for rambling so much. The only advice I can offer is probably... don't start talking in the first place? Sometimes that helps me when I think of that old line, "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt." Hah!

But I will continue the search.

You're right on.. being more reserved and trying to think out the sentence you're going to say first are great methods (the latter of which is really hard to stick to but I'm sure it can be done).

Thanks,

I figure out why I talk too much (I'm anxious) and then I blow my cover and tell others I'm aware I'm talking too much and that it is because I'm nervous. Knowing I will admit it if I don't stop, my little head thinks about its choices, shutting up or embarrassing itself
