I complain a lot. I mean, I've probably got under 20 posts on this forum and there's a good chance that all of them are 'oh poor kptclutch'.....but not today. Nope, I'm putting the narcissism on the back burner this time.

I'm interested in what everyone else does to escape their ADD. Until today, I had forgotten that washing my car is one of those activities that's like an hour and a half vacation for all my worries and frustrations.

Proof of concept: (:

I had gotten away from it and forgotten what I do to escape or go on a little vacation. Well here some are for me: I like to drive and go fast,Drag racing, desert, or even just a drive on the freeway where I can let loose. Washing my trucks.

I like to set a goal and make a plan. Thinking about the who's, what's and how's. It can be a sewing project, home improvement or vacation. It can be a small goal or a long term plan as long as there is a realistic way to achieve or complete the goal. Write it down then make it real.

That is interesting... I never thought about washing the car as an escape, but ever since my first car, if I had time to wash it, the process was at least an hour and a half. I also LOVE to drive fast, through some twisties on the open road.

I also love a project, something I can plan and get into, unleash my hyper-focus on, like a home improvement project.

I admit that I did not have time to wash my car myself yesterday, but she is clean now

Your ADD Escape?

Are you asking what my hyperfocus activities are? If so, swimming. I can swim and I just forget everything. it's like a mini vacation from my racing thoughts.

If you're asking what I do to give myself a mental break, and get away from my racing thoughts, music. Something about listening to music just calms me. And helps my thoughts flow a little slower. It has to be music that I am very familiar with and something about the predictability of the music.

Thanks for asking. Things have not been so well. I have a post in the psychotherapy forum titled update on me that explains the situation. I would link it but I don't know how

I wasn't expecting so many people to respond with answers that relate to vehicles and driving fast....thats awesome haha. I'm the same way, but I haven't had the time to go to the strip in foreva and a day. Dusk (...yeah, I named my car Dusk) isn't that fast, but still a lot of fun to drive.

Tread is overrated when drag racing with four wheel drive

After a custom tune by Trifecta Tunes, my 2.0 LHU went from 220 hp / 258 ft-lb to
300 hp / 330 ft-lb, so my Regal is a little sleeper. The car was so de-tuned it was crazy. The exact same motor/turbo/transmission in the Regal GS from the factory has 270 hp / 295 ft-lb

It is like a whole new engine is in there

ADDer's love to Go Fast, it seems
Thanks for this!

Indeed they do! My daily driver ford F-250 makes 445 Hp to the wheels and 1000+ FT LBS of Torque Makes for great towing capability. In case I break the race truck I can tow at 60 mph to the repair shop I go to for it to be fixed weighing in at almost 14,000 pounds with truck and trailer.

My race truck makes 600HP on fuel and 1000+ FT LBS of Torque on fuel.

Although I can only go fast in a straight line since both my trucks are to long to do any turning at high speed lol.

Consider this to. My ford made 225hp to the fly wheel from the factory and now it makes 445 to the wheels. So gotta figure it is making 500+ hp to the fly wheel now.

My dodge engine made 160hp at the flywheel and now it is making 600 to the wheels. Kinda crazy to think about.

Right!!!

I forgot to mention my factory numbers were GM at the flywheel and the 300 hp / 330 ft-lb are at the wheels!

You probably know the surprised look on the kids faces when you leave them in the dust and they have know idea what happened

Even better is the look on the D-Bag guy in his Bimmer who thinks he will just zip past you, then cut in front of you

HeHe...
Thanks for this!

Lol for sure! My truck use to be a sleeper. But I added a roll cage to it for safety reasons. I am not fast enough to really need the roll cage. I only needed a roll bar. But I have seen what happens when a dodge flips over and lands on its roof. Lets just say the cab does not maintain integrity. You never know drag racing. I may only do 115 to 118 mph in the 1/4. But that is relative seeing How I am doing that at 6400lb curb weight. Not like I am some 2000lb car that will skip off the guard rail.
