There's so many stories on this site that pull on my heart strings something fierce. Thought I would start a fun little thread where my fellow ADD/ADHD people on this forum could post some funny moments in their lives that this disorder has caused. If you're not ADD or ADHD still feel free to child in with any moment you've had that could be classified as an ADD moment.

I'll start out with a few but I'm sure some other posts will trigger this foggy memory of mine......

Just the other day I'm having a serious conversation on my porch with a close friend about his gf. Mid conversation I break out with a "Look a squirrel!!" And my friend chuckles and says something about me derailing the conversation. To which I reply "But it was a really fat one!".

Easily distracted much?

Not my best story but again I was hoping a few additional posts might jog my memory

So have at it if you will!! Add a funny ADD moment. Even the happiest of people could use a laugh.

My son and I were in the car and he was jabbering on about a topic and at one point I got confused and asked him to clarify what he was talking about. He said, "Mom, I have ADHD. Keep up."

I guess not really funny. But I chuckled. My friend stopped over at my house in between jobs from his work before he had to go back. In the middle of the conversation he was having with me, I just got up and went and got my laundry. Didn't say anything to him Just got up walked away and came back with a load of laundry and proceeded to sort it out while he was talking to me lol.

I was watching a 5 minute video on ADD a bit ago.

Not with ADD, but you said others could join in... hope it's okay.

My friend and I were talking and walking, and after a while I began to blur out her words. Nail polish is not a topic I am particularily passionate about. As I stopped to look at the sky, my mind still fuzzy, I smiled and announced, "Yogurt!" Naturally my friend shot me a curious glance. "What are you talking about?" was an expected question, and after that I finally snapped out of my daze, explaining with a sheepish look on my face. "Clouds are white, and so is vanilla ice cream. Kaito likes ice cream, and across the street is frozen yogurt. Yogurt is also white, and therefore, yogurt." Though it made perfect sense to me, she still appeared vry confused. Shrugging, she continued to babble, and as she did, I began to admire the violet-blue flowers on the side of the road. "Social Studies..." "...What?'

Sorry if this isn't exactly that funny. My manner of writing seems to not come off very humorous.

I have a black bird visit my garden almost ever day.
My daughter was chatting away to me when I zoned out as we do, looking at the black bird. Daughter says mummy where have you gone? I said oh sorry honey its Billy in the garden. She says why do u call him that? I said because he is always alone so I think of him as Billy no mates!!! She giggled and forgot about the zoning out part ))))

Studying for state exam. I learn about Cold war... "time to download some oldies to set the mood".

(and that's how I end up with lot of strange/world music in my library).

Not hilarious, per se, but kind of cute: When my son was being diagnosed with ADD the summer after 6th grade, he was explaining to the doctor what it's like. He offered, "Sometimes my brain just loses its think." How have other people described it? Anybody?

Just today at work I'm trying to explain to my co worker what and above tank basking area is (I have a turtle) and the phone rings...I answered and after dealing with a prospective cust (lending) she said, "ok what do they do with it?" I simply said "Either they pay it back or we take them to court" It wasn't until hours later that she brought it back up laughing at me. Ooops.

I've resumed conversations with people that I had with them over a week ago. Usually in the middle of another conversation on a completely different topic with the same person...

I usually say, 'My train of thought left the station without me.'

My wife will sometimes give me a list of a few things/tasks to do and then will ask me,"Are you going to remember that?"
I will look at her and say, "Really...??? Probably not."
Then she'll roll her eyes at me, smile (usually) and say, "I'll write it down for you."
It makes me laugh anyway...she knows me a too well.

i do wish i can have myself examined by some serious mental health institution then i can excuse myself from endless self-scold for procrastination--I got distracted becuz i have ADHD!!!
Share a piece of mine:
I always opened a website and began to watch or read somthing and soon get bored, then i would open another link, thinking to find something "short and light" to enjoy before i went back to finish the previous long one. Finally i always find myself end up opening a lot of wbsites with unfinished reading or video watching. Then it was time to go to bed.

when I went on vacation I put my suitcase right on the doorstep, so I could not forget. I was picked up by car, when I saw the car I was ready to leave. I wanted to get into the car until someone asked me where is your suitcase?

I had just stepped over it.
