This is my third and final attempt and writing a thread. I've been getting side tracked and writing wall of text with out getting anywhere... I'll try to keep it short and simple.......

I take adderall. It works. I don't like taking my adderall. It gives me false ambitions and emotions. I wake up the next day off of my adderall feeling like I went on a drunk-dialing spree and regretted everything I said and did. It's not uncommon for me to make plans with people I don't like, apply to volunteer at homeless shelters, etc. I like adderall because I feel like I'm broken and adderall fixes me. Only when it fixes me it gives me a fake personality that I have to wear at the cost of being fixed. This overly ambitious attitude it gives me makes me completely oblivious to the fact that there will be time spent from the moment I am in now, to the completing a dream I have. Again I never really finish anything I start.

I don't know this is not what I wanted to say I'm just frustrated at trying to say how I feel but never really being able to get all of it out. ****...

You could try a different stimulant and see if that doesn't mess with your personality

but yeah.. you could write, get distracted and write about other stuff and end up with a long *** post that people start reading, then they get distracted and don't end up reading the post you forgot about..

I'm trying to get adderall for my ADHD, currently I'm only on wellbutrin and it's great for depression but not really helping my adhd. My doc said he didn't wanna give a 57 year old stimulants, well I googled and people as old as 80 are getting it lol.

What's the oldest person here on adderall? I figure all the adderall users will read this thread.

80??? wow

Edit: You should be allowed to use a stimulant until you are the age of 65. The reason is because a lot of people already have dementia by then and the stimulant puts strain on the cardiovascular system. But you will be ok as long as you dont have any underlying heart condition just like everyone else.

But wellbutrin is a stimulant. Tell him that.

I was on Adderall as a teen. I wouldn't say it did that to me, I'm unmediated and that is how I feel now. Adderall made it hard for me to sleep when they started me on it.

Anyways, I would speak to you doctor about it. It could be that you could switch meds or just need to speak on how to handle these feelings. What is good is there has been more research and there are other drugs now than when I was 18 so they should be able to help you find the right fix for you.

Try asking them what they think about the research you found, even take a copy in with you. You should maybe even look into reading this book called "Adult ADD: the Complete Handbook" by David B. Sudderth, M.D. & Joseph Kendel, M.D.. It's alittle dated as the copyright is 1997 but there are some good tips in it on how to speak with your doctor... or if you looked on here I'm sure there might be a blog posting for ways to speak to a doctor.

I take adderall every day. I don't experience a next morning phenomenon because I take adderall straight away in the morning. I love it and I need it to function.

I'd suggest not giving up and maybe asking your Dr about changing dose or med. Some people do well on Vyvanse and not Adderall, even though the two are very similar (Vyvanes is a simpler formulation and may have less of certain side effects)

Not to mention other stimulant options.

For me, Vyvanse works well, while Adderall made me feel weird.

This article discusses more on figuring out adhd meds. Good luck!

I feel very fatigued and sore in the morning until I take my medicine. This worries me that it is hurting my body. It is the only thing that has helped me though. Good luck my friend
