My symptoms are at worse these days. I have to study and read for completion of a project and I can't find any thing helpful. I have decided to resume yoga from today but for now I am sitting in my office with a to-Do list in front of me while my mind is racing and gives me feels like it's shrinking and when I try to start working, my heartbeats race like a horse. Does anybody know any activity that I can adapt to help myself in office hours? Allergic to Meds.

Hello, aqsam, and welcome to Psych Central! It might be helpful to check out the resources listed at the top of this forum to see what they say.
Thanks for this!

I know the feeling! My to-do list is staring at me, and anything that requires sustained mental effort is left undone. Surprised? Me neither. I also have to do a TON of reading for school, and it takes an act of Congress to get me started. The good news is, if I DO get started, I'll usually keep going for a while. Just opening the book, or writing a title at the top of a page, helps overcome the inertia.

One thing I've started doing is the Pomodoro Method. Basically, you set a timer for 25 minutes, work as hard as you can until it goes off, then take a 5-minute break and come back. I use a phone app (Pomodoro Lite) to help me.

Good luck! I hope you find something that works.

Pomodoro is great! Also, have you considered the fundamental of diet? Most ADDers are of the Protein Metabolic type -- which means we are extra sensitive to sugar/carbs (i.e., our brain turns to mush). If you're not getting a protein-based bkfst and lunch, you'll always be frustrated with your mind's behavior whilst sitting at your desk.

If you're already pumping the protein, I've got some "Zen brain hacks" that will help. Let me know if interested...
Thanks for this!
