How about "I am ADHD personified"

seems either of your offerings would serve to describe your condition.

However, "silly Danish guy " is far more colorful. To be or to have ADHD...?

Peace to you.

Mikkel, welcome to PC! It's nice to meet you.

One thing that seems to be emphasized over and over in my classes (working on a master's degree in mental health counseling) is that people may have a diagnoses, but people are not that diagnosis. So you have ADHD, but don't let it have you, ok? You may have challenges and some difficulties, but there is a lot more to you than that. Don't let your challenges define you.

Compare with medical diagnoses. Do people say "I am cancer?" They might say I am sick or I am diabetic. Those are adjectives though. We might say I am depressed or I am hyper, too. But if you put it that way it tends less to sound like that is a major defining characteristic.

Oh, I just noticed your comment about DAMP syndrome. That certainly fits me and a lot of members of my family. I have heard of DAMP syndrome before because it is one of my sister's research topics. She is a psychiatrist, and tends to be most interested in the characteristics that are common in our family (ADHD, Asperger's or other autistic spectrum, and also muscular dystrophy). We are Scandinavian too. My father was born in Norway, and my mother's ancestors came from Denmark and Sweden.

I think it is to "have" something.

Such as I have a stomach ache.
Not I am a stomach ache.

Both ADHD and stomach aches are sicknesses you know?
