I am a bit confused because I have comorbid conditions with ADHD. I am on low dose Adderall and if I don't take it for a day...I feel impatient and angry and unstable as far as my mood. I almost feel ODD. )(defiant)

I also have MDD and GAD. I missed my Adderall yesterday and I felt sooooo impatient and mean. ADHD is a new dx for me.

My Adderall is not the XR. It last about 6 hours. IS this like the crash that is felt when the stimulant wears off? I have felt that crash before but yesterday I felt hostile without taking it at all. Is this a dopamine deficiency and without the stimulant, I have such feelings? Anyone had this reaction to not taking their stimulant? How about you people who only have ADD (ADHD) or ODD?

Any comments would help.

I am also taking Adderall. The 6 hour one. I crash if I don't take it, like on weekends when I don't want to....... I can't stand taking meds because the body always seems to compensate in the opposite twice as hard when you stop.

I'm getting nasty headaches too now... not sure if it is the adderall or the ativan. That Ativan is scary stuff. Really knocks out the anxiety but wow does it come back hard if you don't take it........

Hoping there is something in my diet causing this stuff.......

You know, I am glad that you responded as you also take Adderall. I also take the 6 hour or so one and I also really feel the crash after it wears off. Recently I forgot to take it and I was so edgy and irritable all day and even when I am on it I am kind of cranky. I am thinking that I may have to change over to another stimulant or another med now. Some say different stims can react differently in different people. I am not usually so irritable. I only take 7.5 mg of the IR Adderall so I don't think it is too much of a dose. Since I am older my metabolism is slower so smaller doses are more appropriate for me. I will ask my pdoc if the Adderall is causing me to be so irritable. Some people swear that Vyvance does not do this.

I am on Focalin XR and if I don't take it after a day of being on it, I feel like I have a hangover. My head pounds and I feel almost manic. That being said, when I was on a regular acting stimulant (Concerta), I would immediately feel off once the med wore off. It may just be that you are super sensitive to the medication. But I do understand the feeling out of control without the medication. It's like you really notice the contrast between being on it and not being on it.

I take 30mg of Adderall XR. If I don't take it within about three hours of waking up, I'm a mess. Just all over the place. Frustrated, anxious, can't get my head straight.

You might be feeling hostile for that reason.

Cymbalta, 60mg -- for the depression.
Latuda, 40mg -- for the paranoia (delusional type).
Adderall, 40mg XR & 5 mg reg -- for the ADD.
Xanax, .5 mg as needed -- for the anxiety.
Topamax, 50mg -- still figuring this one out.

MDD, but possibly have some form of Bipolar Disorder. Then again, I could be paranoid . . .

Well, at least I still have my sense of humor.

Yeah, if I miss a dose of adderall I feel irritable and anxious. When I take it my mind slows down and I can focus enough to manage life. I know its an amphetamine and most people get energy and feel "good" from it but it slows me down. I take my first 30 mg dose at 6AM and go back to bed for about 3 hours of good sleep. The sleep is good because my mind is not racing...everybody reacts a little different to these meds....
