Hello all,

I've been waking up in the middle of the
Night gasping for air. This has been going
On for over a year and I'm four nights
Straight on this roller coaster. I was in ER
A couple nights ago. Dr. Thinks I'm having
Anxiety attacks and suggested serotonin. My
Son has ADHD and I've always suspected for
Many years I've ADD but carry on as an adult.

Just wondering if others in this forum had similar experiences
And if there's some connection between
The two. Maybe I should have done this earlier but
I'm going for a sleep study for sleep apnea.
I take meds for GERD but Dr thinks it's anxiety. Sometimes
I think I should try medication and see if it helps.

Thanks for reading

Hi, Eastcoaster, and welcome to Psych Central! I doubt ADD has anything to do with your waking up gasping. I think it is likely anxiety and/or sleep apnea. My first guess is sleep apnea, which causes the gasping for air, and thus the anxiety.
