I was taking Dextroamp - Amphet ER 30 mg , it worked great for like 3 months then I notice I was slowly going back to my old ways . So my doctor gave me 40 mg a day and I started breaking out in a rash , on my face .
Is anyone else taking these pills ? Did you get a rash on your face ? If I go off the pills my weight goes up , I need to find a pill strong enough to help me not binge eat and help me with my ADD . |

It's really up to you and your pdoc. and what i'm about to say, has a disclaimer that, i'm no doctor lol.. But... a rash isn't a good thing. especially when its presenting itself on the face, or neck. (also might wanna add that med/dose/reaction to your "allergy list"). From what i've been told by a pdoc i've had, Ritalin is supose to help with appetite and weight loss, and help with add/adhd. in my experience it had the opposite effect on me. Vyvanse is also one that "curbs the appetite", and helps with add/adhd. Those are the only two i know of, but i'm sure there's others too. ![]() ![]() ![]()

In my experience of being on adderral for many years it will do nothing in the long run for weight loss. It's not used for weight loss because after 6 mo to a year the appetite is normal unless you increase your med dose to dangerous levels.

First off i am not a doctor and you should always discuss treatment options for anything with your doctor. and cause doctors are human too i always suggest double-checking information, especially drug interactions and side effects.
Bupropion also reduces appetite and i think its in trials right now for use as a weight loss drug actually. its an antidepressant that is sometimes prescribed off-label for adhd and also in small doses for quitting smoking. But like everything else appetite loss will wear off eventually. To reduce binge eating id suggest focusing on impulse control in general rather than cutting your appetite, because that should have a more long lasting effect. altho i kno how hard that is, i dont say that lightly haha. one possibility is if you get appetite loss again from a different drug then be aware it will wear off and use that time to try to 'train' yourself around food if that makes sense? for example if you crave sugar or caffeine, ive experienced cutting out both of those and appetite loss accidentally helped me continue to avoid it until i broke the addiction. so when my appetite came back im able to moderate myself. but i suffered a lot of negative health effects from sudden weight loss too so be careful of course. also on the note of medication effects wearing off, for stimulants because they are short-acting and get out of your system pretty quick i hear some people take yearly 'vacations' from them to return effectiveness, rather than continuing to up doses and get more resistant or something. since yours stopped so quick tho and of course theres the rash personally i wouldnt touch that particular drug ever again but it may be something to keep in mind |

As long as I am on the 30 mg I have no rash on my face , so that is good but it's not strong enough for my ADD problems and my mind is all over the place and can't stick to one thing before another .
I know when I see her in a few weeks she's going to want me of it and I know when I am on low carbs my binge eating stops but it's hard for me to say on track . Another thing this meds. I am taking kills my sex drive . This is a good thing because I would watch porn all day if I was not on this meds. I don't know if I should say that to my doctor it's embarrassing . |

its possible that if youre allergic a low dose wont cause a rash but is still causing other bad effects. like how my cousin went on an allergy elimination diet and discovered her acne went away, and when she introduced milk she got sick from having a whole bunch but she also saw her acne came back. allergies are pretty weird
i havnet noticed any change in sex drive on my meds but i already have a naturally low one. if you want to tell your doctor but youre really embarrassed you can write it down and hand a note over, thats also embarrassing but in a different way. i have a friend with a severe anxiety disorder who has to do that with all her doctors because she cant say her symptoms out loud. personally i write it down to feel better and usually dont need to actually hand it over. but often after appointments when i look at the list i realize i forgot to mention something that was on there so i probably should be using it anyways for memory reasons... anyways i don't know how helpful that might be for you tho but its a thought |
