I'm studying my 3rd year of my bachelor's degree(19 yrs old, living in India since 2006, CA before that). I'm not diagnosed with ADHD, but i may have it. I also feel sleepy and cloudy most of the time, so theres a chance of it being narcolepsy too. I often make really petty mistakes in my academics and in everyday life. These mistakes cost me dearly, in my grades, academics and basically my life. I can't seem to understand things the way other people do... and not in the good way. I also get really confused when things get a little complicated, or if i have to do something that gets even a little complicated or something that i have to put my mind to. I've had these since my childhood, i just decided to share it today. Also, i get really easily distracted. Even with the door closed, when i try to study, i hear conversations more clearly than i want to, and i'm also prone to other distractions too, because of which i flunk a lot of my exams. Anyone with a similar problem? Anyone with a similar problem and got through that problem? I could really use the experiences and advice. Thanks in advance.

Hi there,
I am 27yrs old and living in Oregon, I was in India for 24yrs of my life, I am an ADHD, I had hard time trying to make things work for me, I was often distracted and never paid attention to anything, there was so much to do all the time, Yes I screwed up most of the things in life and all the family was just against me, but then I did whatever I could to make things work, I was not diagnosed with ADHD until i was 25, by that time I was an entreprenuer, counsellor, artist, photographer, actor, director, social worker, project manager, engineer and what not. Yes I tried everything my mind asked me to. Yes nothing worked for me, because I used to get bored from stuff, I had problems in relationships also, No one understood what I was going through. But in the end everything went well. Well that was my story, here is the synopsis : make things exciting for yourself, have your room decorated with all the notes, reminder so that you know whats going on, what you need to do. Have your friends remind you, alarm, places, everything that works for you. Ask for the feedback from people about how you are behaving ( you wont like it, but just listen) reward yourself after every task you do. I used to watch movies after I was done with task. Your mind will be happy to co-operate with you if you try to make him happy after he works for you. All the Best. |

Vitamin C- A combination of this vitamin with vitamin E helps to protect the brain and clear free radicals. Both vitamins safeguard the cells of the brain against glutamic acid.
