To provide background info, I’m a 24 year old male diagnosed with BPD and social anxiety by a professional, and used to take mood stabilizers. Stimulants didn’t seem like a good idea due to stress and anxiety.
I have two questions that I’ve been thinking about for a while. I took different online tests and my results are consistent with severe ADHD, but the hyperactivity questions are always the low outliers. I’m not an active person or like physical activities and multitasking. I appear calm and quiet to people, but usually I’m in my head, avoiding eye-contact and nervously pretending to listen, or just distracted by my own thoughts while being comfortable sitting still. I'm wondering if physical activity is a significant part of ADHD? Q2, other than stimulants and cognitive behavioral therapy, are there treatments that help with time management, being aware and present while performing a task, listening and comprehension? I don’t think a professional diagnosis is possible because I’m trying to manage my drug addiction and recent relapses (after 2 years of heavy drug use) so my ADHD symptoms could be easily attributed to this and lack of sleep for days. |

Time management has always been a struggle for me, especially now as an 'older adult'. One would think I would have gotten it figured out by now. Only having recently been diagnosed with a whole bunch of stuff can I now work on trying to put the pieces of the puzzle together so that they will all fit...if that makes any sense.
