I don't want medication. I don't want a long hurl of activities to fix the problem. I don't want to see a doctor or a psychiatrist, because I know what's wrong with me, you know? I just want an easy way to clear the thoughts away, so I'm not thinking too much. Not even real thoughts, just shreaded bits of information that made picasso look like a genius, maybe that's the trick of excellence, high emotional random thoughts.

ANYway. I just wanna kknow what you guys have done, which has had the fastest impact on you. Was there a turning point when you got better, and do you feel you are better.

Hi, Wingedthing

I have adult ADD. Though I also have more severe Mental and emotional disorders.

For me the only way to help me with the ADD has been medication, which has helped ease the symptoms of the ADD. I take Adderal XR. However Adult ADD and ADD in Adolecense probubly vary so which ever you are having trouble with as long as they do not interfere with your daily functioning then you may not need medicine which I feel you do not want as you said that you do not want to slee a pdoc for this.

Dont think there is any easy way out of this. As normaly in adulthood the sypmptoms and conditions are here for life. Just my experience maybe others feel differernt.

You might want to take the ADD quiz in the quizzes section- chris

I appreciate ur story, I'm glad you found ur way of dealing witht hings. i feel that the quiz on this website is silly, you don't need a quiz to be "qualified" to say u think too much all the time. if it's true that you can't cure it, i think i'm going to cry so much.

You are right, a written exam is useless, almost 90% of people that take them are + for ADD, only drug therapy will find out if you have it. It is not curable, go see a doc, Ritalin has been a wonderful thing in my life now, and just knowing is half the battle.

IF YOU ARE ON ANY MED < PLZ TALK TO YOUR DR FIRST>
Hello, I too have Add or Adhd. I also suffer from Borderline personality disorder and depression. took many drugs in the past and felt like i was going even more crazy. I stopped and im getting worst by the day. the sad thing is that I always smile and no one know how I really feel inside, Im dying. last week I came across this web site called the Healing Centers
( http://www.wholehealthmd.com/hc/1,1439,,00.html)
how to help your self the natural way. I've read that If I take Dmae for Add, Magnesium for both depression and ADD, and Kava Kava for depression that it should work. Guess what, it's only been a week and I feel great, I feel that it's working. Im gonna give it time because I've read so many good things about Dmae ( short for Dimethylaminoethanol). the Magnesium I take is called Magnesium taurat, a guy who I met here told me about it. U can buy it really cheap from http://www.myvitanet.com/index.html . ( about 12 dollars ). or a very fast shipping is at (http://www.gaines.com/store/Douglas/DLB83071info.html) for a little more money. U can also read about it in (http://www.coldcure.com/html/dep.html#caution). anyway, it is up to u to buy it or not. All I know is that the Dmae is really good and really cheap. u can buy that from the Vitamin shop or iherb or any where u choose too. Good luck and God bless.

No, and with what I could find on the internet in five minutes there is no evidence that it works.

Gee, you say in so many words that you literally do not want professional help, the truth is it works and I cannot see you discarding the possiblity to a better way, better sense of well being.
I too balked at getting professional help but it was worth it in the long run, it literally saved my life.
I always find it hard when a person is feeling miserable rather physical or emotional and refuses help, there is no miracles, no easy way.
The best I can suggest is to swallow your pride or come out of denial (I know I've been there) and see a therapist, then they may refer you to a pdoc if you need
meds to help the process of getting to a better state.
Remember there is NO easy way, you need to work with a mental health professional, otherwise you are only fooling yourself, and will not get very far.
Life is much too short and can be beautiful, to allow yourself to be miserable, stuck in the pit.
I wish you lots of luck and hope you will reconsider going for help.
Please take care,
DE
