I have the "worst of two worlds" lol....first off i am taking 200 MG of zoloft for my OCD and my OCD has improved dramatically (80-85% or so on the thoughts in my head and 70-75% on the rituals). The part which I struggle with both still is at work. I take 60 MG on adderall on a typical day (sometimes 67.5 or 75 on a long day) but my OCD has always been bad with numbers and organizing things and tasks. With my work I have a lot of numbers and my clients are also focused in excel so sometimes I spend more time organizing things or checking certain clients that getting all my work done. What is really annoying is how my ADHD and OCD conflict. For example, my room is either messy or when it is clean everything has to be organized a certain way. These two conflict each other and sometimes it is hard to control them. Does anyone have any suggestions to which I can use in my daily life?

I have some great books to which i have to read but as I stated...sometimes things become difficult with these two things clashing. I have great days and not so good days but the thing is I am doing my thing making that paper but I have such amazing ideas and thoughts to which I cannot implement sometimes. I am struggling with this and have always since I was younger had problems following through when a certain assignment is nearly done. It is a daily struggle but I am glad I know what I have and will work hard doing what I can do to improve and I would appreciate any feedback.

I will stay strong but sometimes you just have to have positivity around you and sometimes one goes crazy. Let me ask you...if I stay awake and only get 5-6 hours a sleep sometimes and stay awake on Adderall does that make my OCD/ADHD worse?

I haven't seen the sexual side effect listed in any of the medical literature. I have seen however some patient reports that it may decrease sex drive in males. One possible reason is as a stimulant it can increase blood pressure. High BP can be linked to impotence. Maybe this effect is more linked to your OCD? Maybe the Adderall changes the brain chemistry in some way that make this behavior more pronounced.

I'm just guessing here. I have not noted any change in my sex drive after starting adderall.

I also have OCD and ADD. My OCD is more in my head or what used to be called Pure O (Pure obsessional). Now they are finding that the ruminations are compulsions just like checking or washing hands. Since I don't have the OCD that causes me to need everything in order, my ADD rules and I'm totally disorganized. However, what causes me difficulties is finding medications. I take Provigil for my ADD, but this makes my OCD worse. However, if I don't take Provigil I am totally lethargic, nonfocused and can get nothing done. I find that if I take an antidepressant for my OCD, it makes me totally exhausted/lethargic. Ativan is about the only thing that helps and is tolerable. And yes, stimulants can cause an increased libido. I'm so glad you posted, I was thinking that I was the only one dealing with this. It's maddening at times. Keep posting!

I appreciate all the help...things are a lot better and it truly is better to help understand who your enemy is but for some reason those sexual thoughts are still there (and they are not of my girlfriend who is very good looking). It is annoying and it truly wastes time and I don't know if it is a side effect of the adderall or whatsoever. Does anyone have any advice on this? I am kind of embarrassed to tell my psychiatrist...
