Yes I am feeling the same. I am going to school in Canada and Adderal is no longer available. So the new Doc put me on Dexidrine. It makes me edgy, anxious and I think somewhat confused. I am really having troubles in school. Tests are tough. Even when I know the material.

I am also taking Welbutrin and Celexa. I am as unhappy as ever and more frustrated than ever. I have been crying! Sucks doesnt it? Good luck.

I stopped taking the dexedrine. I am glad I did. I am not feeling as anxious or nervous. Feeling a little better, although my life is chaotic.

Talk to your doctor. There could be several reason for this. Your dose could be too high. There could be another co-existing condition that hasn't been treated. Or this particular medication may not be correct for you.

One of the main things in finding the right ADD medication(s) is good communication with the doctor who is prescribing the medication.

Part of the problem is my dr. is in the states and trying to get help in another country is difficult. I did lousy in school partly due to changing the meds in mid stream and me crashing to the bottom again. This has been so frustrating. I could'nt remember anything. aggggg! Hi Joe. Has anyone suggested that you try Strattera? My oldest son takes that now and is doing so much better. He is still in college and his grades are SO much better now. He took Adderall with not much luck and also Concerta. The Strattera took about 3 weeks to kick in. Stattera is not a controlled substance like other meds and can be sent through the mail. I was recently diagnosed and have just begun on Strattera - I already feel more alert. Wishing you luck.

Yikes. I know those feelings well. What meds are you on? And have you had the chance to talk to your pdoc about this? If not, I suggest making an appointment or talking about it over the phone. Couldn't hurt. Good luck.

Don't forget about rebound agitation. This is fairly common that when the medicine wears off people get agitated/mean. Extended release formulations may have less of this because the dose wears off more gradually.
