I was taking Welbuitrin XL for mild ADD, and while it managed to level out my mood I'm really not sure it improved my concentration. I was on a 150mg dosage, then went up to 300mg, but subsequently felt rather like a zombie so I'm no longer taking anything (almost wish I was--last night SUCKED, but that's another story).

I was never really sure if it was doing what it was supposed to, though--while my mood evened out, all I really care about is improving my day-to-day performance in school. Did Welbutrin work for you? If not, what did? I just need something that'll let me get PAST all the fear/anxiety/self-esteem BS or whatever it is and let me WORK!! ADD/Anxiety meds... how do you KNOW they're working?

Thank you all SO much!
truly,
~muse

Muse.....I can't take wellbutrin cuz I'm allergic to it.

I take a bunch of other meds though and for my ADHD I take Adderall and Strattera for it. I found that almost immediately after I started taking the Adderall I was able to pay attention in class, able to study without distraction. I am not to take it though when I'm not in school or need to study as my pdoc is worried it will make me manic. So far so good.

My pdoc gave me dexedrine. It has worked wonders for me. I also take wellbutrin. I have no side effects, but I am able to focus, my mind is less scattered, I make less mistakes...I feel like my brain slows enough for me to think. All of this has greatly reduced my anxiety.

I take 50mg of Prozac and 30mg of Adderall XR. My p-doc added 150mg of Wellbutrin and I just got off of it.

It made me nuttier...and I'm not sure my focus was any different than being on the Adderall...
