Just thought I should share this link with people... it's a college in the UK for kids from sixteen upward to continue their education. As well as having great resources for neuro typicals it has one of the best set ups for young people on the autistic spectrum. Explore the whole website, but just to give you a taste, check out the "rugroom", a chill out zone for kids on the spectrum.

As well as offering this place they offer tailored learning for each individual kid, including life skills, apprenticeships, as well as academics for kids so inclined. Autistic spectrum kids can stay for longer than the usual two years, and there is counselling and assessment for comorbids, emotional and practical support.

So, this is the rugroom.

I didn't know this was available for my son when I moved down here, but to be honest, if I had done I would have moved specifically for it. I hope this is of help to some parents of auty/aspie kids.
