Over the past couple of years things have been quite confusing.. I went from being diagnosed with Dissociative Identity Disorder to Schizoaffective Disorder with PTSD.. After some vigorous self analysis and a good look at my childhood Ive come to a conclusion.. I'm most likely an Aspie. I dont think Ive ever truly agreed 100% with either diagnosis.. besides PTSD. But after a lot of research and reading a lot of stories and seeing that there are many people and doctors that have misunderstood symptoms I am realizing that a misdiagnosis is quite common, and I fit the Aspergers diagnoses the best.
After about a year of no therapy or medical treatment I am beginning to find myself even more distant from the little social interaction I used to have.. and drastically empathetic at times, almost as if this condition I have has gotten worse..Luckily I applied for medical insurance and should be receiving treatment and a official evaluation soon. In the meantime I took this online test at http://www.rdos.net/eng/ Although it took me forever to take, I was very honest in the hopes that I would get accurate results.. I know this test alone isn't good enough for a true diagnoses, but it does tell me a lot about myself, and may help my future Therapist understand me.. I posted the results so i can get some opinions. One question I have is how do i go about trying to explain to my future Therapist that I think I have Aspergers without them thinking im some complete fool?? This definitely isn't a diagnoses "i want" but i'm tired of getting the wrong treatment and am definately not trying to take any anti psychotics again.. They have never helped, and for all I know could have made things worse. I tend to think everyone's against me or questioning me at times, or is just judging me as a weirdo so Its hard for me to communicate and ask questions the right way, or even ask them at all. How should I go about asking for an evaluation? Here's the results Your Aspie score: 166 of 200 Your neurotypical (non-autistic) score: 58 of 200 You are very likely an Aspie Last edited by Singularis; Jan 19, 2012 at 12:41 PM. I'm an Aspie and also moderately paranoid in some contexts. I don't know if they are related.

![]() There is no harm in talking to your T about this at all and you could show them the results of the test you took. Good luck and let us know.

I hope I can let you guys know really soon. I'm already on "SSD" and I receive payments, which helps. But the issue is people on disablility don't qualify for assistance with healthcare until 2 YEARS after they started receiveng payments, which is insane if you ask me.. So I applied for assistance through "social services". And its taking forever for a simple response. I don't know how long I can wait.. I really, really, need help. Thanks for wishing me good luck, I can really use it. |
