I have been diagnosed with a mild case of Aspergers. I have met someone I want to date, however she doesn't want to because she had a relationship with someone else who had a more severe case of asp and she had a very bad experience with that. My question is, what does someone experience who has been in a relationship with someone who has asp? What could she be so afraid of? I feel like she is afraid I will hurt her but I can't figure out how. Any thoughts on this?

I'm thinking is the best way to find out is to tell her you don't want to cause problems with her like the last person. Maybe she will open up and tell you some of what happened......

Remember that people with severe asperger's can have trouble relating to people and understanding them. I can't guess what specifically might have happened.

Thanks so much. She did tell me she thought I was more 'formed', (whatever that means) than her other girlfriend with asp
