Ever since I was very young I've had nervousness around people, I've disliked being around kids my age & I still do now. Not out of lack of confidence but because I just don't like them & I don't know why this is...

I have been bullied for the entire duration when I was at school 6 years ago so maybe this could be why but it doesn't explain when I was 5/6 & had all these phobias, nightmares & 'social anxiety' ....

Your thread spoke to me, because I'm finding myself in a similar situation where I think I might have Asperger's. Do you prefer to hang out with older people, you mentioned not liking your peers. For me it's what came first the chicken or the egg? Asperger's or Social Anxiety Disorder. I'm trying to go down that road with my therapist in my sessions right now. PM if you want.

Sorry we cant tell you if this is aspergers in you. only your doctors can tell you that. what I can tell yo is that sometimes people dont like others "just because" and not because they have a mental disorder....

I dont like some of my co workers and they dont like me. it has nothing to do with any of my mental issues.. its just that I dont like how they behave, or I dont like what they do (drink/drugs/...) some I simply dont like because I havent really taken the time to get to know them out side of the office. who knows they may be different outside the office then they are during work hours but I just dont agree with how they do their job.. nothing to do with a mental disorder.

with most people even those with no mental disorders its completely normal not to like everyone...look at here on psych central we all have our own likes and who we dont like...it has nothing to do with our mental disorders we just get triggered by their posts sometimes.

human beings are not the type of species where they have to like everyone else. human beings have the type of brain that allows us to think for ourselves and have our own opinions and have our own friends/enemies...just part of normal life kind of thing

again we cant diagnose whether this would be a mental disorder in you. to find this out you need to contact your own doctors.
