Hello, I don't know if anybody can help me but I guess I will try and post my concern. How do you change unwanted behaviors in autistic children in a school environment. For example, they are grabbing other kids around the neck and sometimes forcing them to fall to the ground. It looks like a hug but it's clearly not and very dangerous behavior for both of the children.

I'm not a teacher, or a professional, but as someone on the spectrum I would suggest... the way you stop any child doing something like that. Sit them down and explain to them that it's not acceptable behaviour for a classroom and that they will get in trouble if they do it again.

You're dealing with autistic HUMAN children, not aliens.

that kind of behaviour isn't even common in autistic children. if a child really has a knack for violence (i.e. hurts people all the time) then he really has to be completely isolated from society.

ok i admit that was very badly put. but still, it is the parents' responsibility to detect any "problems" in children before they learn how to walk otherwise the children might become the next Adam Lanza or Seung-Hui Cho, you get what i mean
