Yes, but the mind is not the brain.

I don't feel I have a particularly masculine or feminine side, I think there is a term for that but I never remember exactly what or how its spelled. Though 'gender' is more of a social construct from what I understand and the term 'sex' refers to the physical gender like if they are physically female or male(though lots of people use those interchangably or perhaps due to the other meaning of the first they are more comfortable using gender....but a lot of supposed male and female traits are more of social constructs if that makes any sense.

But scientists have been known to use metaphor, and are very creative thinkers. Newton came up with the best metaphor ever, all those pretty shells and pebbles on the beach, and then, the sea!

Neurons communicating through synapses in the brain, and memories stored in the hippocampus.

Freud's ego, superego and id turned out to be anatomical structures in the brain. Perhaps the masculine and feminine sides are, too!

Don't they perhaps mean less emotionally responsive to someone else? Men are less emotional than women (at least apparently) and I know I am not a very emotional guy at all. I think that's one of the reasons people with AS aren't good at relationships, it's the lack of emotional expression. Most people dismiss me as just being uninterested in what they had to say, simply because it doesn't evoke that same emotional response or expression out of me that it would a normal person. Men are considered less emotionally expressive, and in terms of that I would say AS is definitely an amplified form of that.

I'm aware of the concept but it doesn't match id, ego and superego.

It takes no further scrutiny for it to fall apart, but maybe if you don't mind the actual details it could fit.

Isn't it the same story again? Facts vs metaphor?
