Hello. By weighted objects I specifically mean vests and blankets. For me, I always want someone to hug me or hold me or cuddle me because I feel "naked" for a lack of a better term without one. Like, not actually naked, but like bare. I'm sorry, I can't think how to describe the word I'm looking for.
Anyways, so I have found some information regarding weighted things. I would like to try a vest. Not a weighted one, but an air one. Like, one that can fill with air to create it tighter around chest and back, and looser. I want to try to get the blanket to sleep, but I don't know... Does anyone have experience with weighted things for sensory input? Thanks. Social anxiety disorder, ASD, GAD, OCD, and panic disorder Lexapro, 10 mg; Ativan 0.5 mg PRN

I used to borrow a far-too-small bodyprotector for horsebackriding and strap that on. However ever since the PTSD got bad, the feeling of being held freaks me out. I even sleep under a extra-light duvet nowadays.

I cannot sleep unless I have a pile of heavy blankets on me. The weight relaxes me and makes me feel better when I am ill or anxious. Sometimes when I am very anxious I wrap some heavy objects in a towel and place it on my chest. The extra weight has a more calming effect than my bedding.

I like sleeping under heavy (weighted) covers. Problem is I live in Hotville, Hot, in Humidton County, and I get overheated. I also sleep with my mouth open (I try not to) so having the fan on is not an option. When I was at university my bed was lofted and the vent pointed right at my bed, so I used a thermal sleeping bag for my blanket and it was both heavy enough and adequate for my temperature needs.
I used to always feel "naked" without a purse or a jacket tied around my waist. Part of the jacket thing is what if I'm outside somewhere, and it's 90F, and then I go inside and it's AIR CONDITIONED and it's 70F and it's cold and I need a jacket. I've since downgraded from the purse and now it's my keychain that I keep clipped to my belt.

Apparently this is considered a cry for help. |
