I am sure that I have autism and so does my wife, who is a speech and language pathologist. Who do I go to in order to have testing done for it? James

Ask your GP for a referral.

Hello soccerguy: You'll probably end up needing to see a psychologist or other mental health professional. But starting out by asking your primary care doctor for a referral might be a good way to get started. If that is not an option for some reason, perhaps your health insurer could be of some help... or maybe contact your local mental health association & see if they can suggest some possible service providers in your area. Here is a link to an article on the diagnosis of adults with Asperger's Syndrome. Toward the end it provides a link to a source for finding appropriate professionals in one's geographic area:

I see this is your first post here on PC. So... to PsychCentral… from the Skeezyks! May the time you spend here be of benefit.

PsychCentral is a great place to get information as well as support for mental health issues. The more you post, & reply to other members’ posts, the more a part of the community you will become. Plus there are social groups you can join & chat rooms where you’ll be able to connect with other PC members in real time (once your first 5 posts have been reviewed & approved.) Lots of great stuff! So please keep posting!

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
