Being alone, deserted and without friends is no good feeling, but what I find much tougher is when I try to go out or be social and then see everybody around me "click". You see and hear they have good conversations, laugh and generally having a good time, and then I am the fifth wheel on the wagon. Sad being alone, but even more sad feeling alone when you are around peoeple. What are your feelings/experiences with these type of situations?

Hm-m-m-m... well... personally I don't really have these kinds of experiences since I'm pretty-much entirely solitary by choice. (But then I'm an older person & it works for me.) As a young adult I guess I was pretty social... more-so after a few drinks.

I have gonne through this times and times again. When I attended high school and then university, when I was younger and went to summer camp.
So painfull. For many years I though I would click someday, I have come to understand I can't do it no matter what. I am sorry you feel the same! It is really painfull... I used to write in the bathroom's doors at highschool how sad and alone I felt... It was so common for me to hide in the bathrooms during breaks. Once during a conversation a colleague commented how intriguing it was... My secret. |
