My mania has been getting worse and worse lately, I think I'm on edge to the point of freaking out almost all the time now. My boyfriend said one thing I didn't like today and I broke down sobbing shaking and I was just so ridiculously angry.
I find myself more and more angry lately for no reason. I don't know how to deal with it I start shaking badly and all I want to do is hurt myself, sometimes I do and sometimes really badly. All I want to scream and my whole body tenses, they're very similar to my panick attacks.
Does anyone know how I could possibly relieve some of my mania or calm down faster, or at least perhaps help me to relive my boyfriends stress when I freak out?

Hi,

I am new to this site, and new with having a husband who is bipolar. But during highs, the doc suggested to go and do a physical activity, like jogging, fast pace walk or treadmill. This will help release those chemicals naturally, the same you feel when you hurt yourself. I hope this helps and wish you the best of luck.

Are you on meds? Do you see a therapist? I have found both, especially meds to be quite effective.

If that is not a possiblity, I would do as suggested above. Physical exerise--go for a jog or fast paced walk when the feelings get overwhelming.

Treating yourself to a nice warm bath helps soothe too.

Keep posting and letting your PC friends know how you are doing, k?
