He's been manic for 28 years. He's had this symptom for 20 years he says, but recently it's growing and moving around he says. It was located above his ear inside his head and wiggled about the size of a finger. Now he says it's on both sides and seems to move up to the top of his head, and has more of a feeling of "netting". He said 12 years ago he had an MRI and nothing was found. Now he feels it's spreading. Woke me to pray against it entering his lymph nodes the other night. Does this symptom sound familiar to anyone?

Does he have these symptoms only when manic? If so, it could be a hallucination. Let's not assume it's not real immediately but if he only feels it when manic, I wonder if it might possibly be a hallucination? I hate it when anyone automatically thinks things are imaginary because someone has a mental illness. But we can't rule it out realistically either. Has he had a doctor's opinon recently since it spread?

Have you seen evidence of the squiggly thing? Sometimes people can get certain type of parasitic worms that can move and multiply. The people will feel them moving and say things about squiggly feelings and others will think they're just a few cards short of a deck when really they have something there.
It's important to take him to an MD. If there is something there...the MRI may not be able to see it...or the DR that read the MRI may not have recognized it. Believe him though...it's happened. And if it turns out that there's truely nothing there, then you can go from that point. Take care...and keep us posted. ![]()

It can be a symptom of physical or mental disorders. The only way to find out which one it is is to have a through medical exam...possibly including an MRI with contrast. His medications may also be involved...his prescribing physician may know if this sensation is a side effect, especially if he has been on a maintenance drug for any length of time. It definitely needs to be evaluated by a medical professional. Best wishes in finding an answer, Catherine

I would have him have another MRI. Then if nothing shows up I would talk with his T. I hope things go alright. Keep us updated.
