Yep! With me, anxiety is a big component of my Bipolar. In fact, I suspect that it had upped my stress levels to such a high baseline that I was constantly getting triggered. I do best on an antidepressant that cuts out the anxiety also and a mood stabilizer. Hope you find something tthat works. Huggs, and don't worry about feeling kind of outside sometimes, dear. I think it's kind of normal, especially with us bipolars. Huggs!

I'm pretty new here as well. I remember that, as my appointment date for the pdoc got closer, the more I had the urge to cancel it. It was like mentally I was sticking my fingers in my ears and chanting, "LA LA LA I Can't Hear YOU!!!" I think that feeling of being outside of things is part protection and part a coping tool. I know I've definitely felt like that.

I hope you can find part of what you need here. Everyone has been really supportive so far.

Bipolars often have anxiety disorders on top of the bipolar. I have a fairly severe case of PTSD myself.

Unfortunately a lot of people have unsupportive families. You have a great family here at PC!!!!!

PC is a great place to vent, share, cry.... and share your triumphs too.

Well, I can say that communicating with people online can be great. I met all of my best friends on an online message board, and I met my husband online as well. I also prefer communicating online to IRL, but that's because I have anxiety around people I don't know.

I can relate to this leah, I'm new too. But we're all here for each other, learning, supporting. Even knowing that I'm communicating with people who actually understand, empathise with or can just relate to what I'm talking about has been a great encouragement to me. I don't know any other BP sufferers IRL so this has been so valuable already.
