Just recently, because of worsening depression and mood, my T prescribed this in addition to the 30mg of Cymbalta and 20mg of Lexapro. So far, and this has been about 3 days, things have been going well.

Anyway, does anyone have any thoughts or comments about this med? I'd appreciate the input. Thank you.

Mary Alice

P.S. I am taking 100mg once per day, then go up to twice a day after the first week.

being on 2 different anti - depressants really helped me - maybe they each have a different chemical make up which is what my brain needs but it made a world of difference for me

I was on wellbutrin cymbalta and ablilify for a few years and found it worked fine. no emotional interferance, no mood swings. that combo also helped me lose weight I had gained from 2 other meds

Thank you for responding. I am wondering about the side effects and things too. All I've noticed is huge thirst.

It's called adjunctive therapy and its become very popular in the past few years. Most of the studies I have seen show good results and no increase in side effects compared to taking them alone.

I was on Wellbutrin by itself initially and it would work great for about 3 weeks and then just stop working... like it hit a ceiling. I maxed out the dose and it still hit a ceiling. That being said, it's an antidepressant that is not known for many side effects but it's also not an overly powerful one. It is most typically used in combination with other meds (ADs, mood stabilizers) so it sounds like you're right on track there. It very well may give you the extra little boost you're needing right now. Indeed I hope it does. I never had any side effects at all from it. It's definitely not supposed to make you tired so that's a good thing. Hopefully you'll find like me that it helps a little bit without many side effects. Good luck with it and I hope you're feeling better!!
