I am sitting here reading through the forums. I see new people waving hello. See others reaching out. People I am close to going through hard times and major losses and I feel like I can't put a decent response together. In other words I have lost my mojo...did not put out the menorah this year. Not a latke has been fried. I was even going to comprimise my virtue for a snowstorm. The meteorologist said no snow...but here's some freezing wind. Heavy sigh. I will be reading you all...just not confident enough to respond.

I'm sure that probably wasn't even intended for me, but thanks for saying it. It made me feel a little less alone and ignored.

Thanks for this!

I'd like snow, but most people in this city would have a total freak out, and they drive badly enough as it is.

I've been having a lot of trouble writing coherant posts lately, and I'm starting to feel really stupid. I'm hoping this goes away eventually, because I don't want to have to wonder if my husband is going to love me less if I stop being smart. (Note to self: DO NOT get paranoid about this... grrr.)

So, I promise I will not grade your responses, if you do post, and I promise not to get upset if you don't reply. I'm just glad you're around.

No tests. But I have a conspiracy theory...maybe humans are suppose to hibernate like all the other mammals but our brains did not get the message? Maybe that is why so many people feel depressed? Insert smiley here.

Unfortunately mankind thinks it knows best and always has when it comes to time. Will we ever learn?

I don't think so. Just look at our cultural history. I mean, we've got HG Wells building a time machine to people being able to see the future. I think we're obsessed with controlling time.

I'm all for hibernation if I get to wake up skinny. I don't want to be like the bears, though, and wake up to find I have extra babies.

I did let myself sleep whenever I Wanted to without guilt. I slept some wierd hours. I found it improved my mood, kinda lifted my mood. Reduced blood pressure, stress. And no babies or weight gain. I did find I slept more at night. That was kinda neat.

Interesting... I would love to sleep more. I think it would be good for me. I remember when I was in college, I slept whenever I wanted and it was great.

I think a lot more sleep than they are getting. We are so busy rushing toward the future we are just wizzing by the present.

I always worry that I will end up staying up too late if I nap during the day, but maybe I should just sleep when I want to sleep.

Give it a try if you can. But as soon as you speed up again, get tired or stressed all the great ideas and stuff goes away until you are rested again.

I would recommend putting a limit on the lengths of your naps, say a sleep cycle (approx. 90 min.) and ensuring you don't take them too late in the day (3 p.m. would probably be the best time.) It's too easy to destabilize your sleep pattern otherwise.

Well apparently my inadvertan 2 hour nap yesterday didn't mess up my cycle because now I seem to have the rhinovirus that hubby has. Ugh!

I agree with NuckingFutz all the rules of sleeping change when you're sick.
