Try hanging on where you are and tell Pdoc what you have done and how you feel. that way if you come all the way off, you can do it with minimum chance for bad affects. Glad to hear your feeling better. HUUGS!

What drug are you messing with? You really need to run everything by your pdoc before you do it.

I'm doing this with my Geodon! I know that "not as much" is absorbed when taken without food so that's what I did for the first week and a half. Now I'm taking half of a dose with food and all is going well. I intend to start taking the half dose without food to bring the adsorption down even more. I have an appointment with the pdoc on the 6th and when I tell him what I've done (IF I tell him what I've done) I know he will be pissed. But I want to stop. The only things I've been through as far as withdrawals are cold symptoms and maybe a headache here and there. But I've also noticed I laugh more. And that's worth it for me.
I don't like my pdoc. My pharmacy LOST a prescription for Xanax and when I asked him for another he flat out accused me of abusing them and even called the pharmacy to see when the last time was that I had it filled. (it had been a month and a half). He did write me another and the pharmacy has since found the script. But last time I went in to see him he had a pdoc in his place because he was out of the country. THIS pdoc doubled the dosage! And I DIDN'T ask for it! Now when I see him next week there is no telling what he will say to me. I know that some how he will make it out that I finagled more drugs. I don't like him, since the accusation. And I've kept it in and been a nervous wreck ever since the incident. This is the first time I've spoke/written about it. It's been almost three months since I saw the last pdoc, 6 months since I've seen the accusing, regular pdoc. ...Sorry...</endhijack> |

talk to your doc first. you never know what ill effects you might suffer down the road. He put you on that dose for a reason. Stick to it until you speak with him! Good Luck

I would normally not say what I said when i first posted, but I have had Pdocs who assume that I am just making up symptoms to justify medicine noncompliance. when another Pdoc has seen me, it has invariably meant a sudden discontinuation of the meds and reintroduction of something else. So, that is why I recommended stopping where you were and letting your Pdoc know what you felt after you reduced the meds. Sometimes, not always by far, but sometimes, they need to see themselves how you respond, but are apprehensive of reducing the meds because of their responsibilities. Hope it goes well for you, Crystal!
