I am having a really tough time tapping into my feelings for the past few weeks. I just do stuff. This has a plus side as I do not tap into negative feelings and my futz jokes are still in my posts. It is like if I tap into my feelings I might find a monster lurking instead of a scared child that is usually there. Now I am transitioning in therapy. I am waiting for another therapist to become available. My old one and I did not tap into my feelings deep enough. Very pragmatic, solution oriented. It was like having therapy with myself in the mirror. Any suggestions until my new therapist has a weekly opening in her schedule?

How about journaling? I know it's not the same as talk therapy but it gets your thoughts out into the open and in a place where if they need to be talked about with T then you have them available. JUst a thought. Good luck and hopefully new T will have a weekly opening soon!

I agree with gravvvy. I journal especially when things aren't so great. Not only is it a place to get it out (besides here, but let's just say the journals are more extensive. An added bonus is that sometimes in the ramblings, I make a connect or have an insight that never occured before. Might find some of them are some things you'd like to bring up with the new T-doc. If there are certain things you don't want to delve into w/o a T-doc at the ready, you could write about other things.
And of course, writing here -- we'll be here. ![]() |

See, I didn't even think of that. I journaled for a bit at y'alls suggestion. And found that something is coming up that is real emotional. That if I wasn't self aware enough, I would probably go into a depression to cover it up. I'll keep you posted. Thanks again!
