So at 7:10am, the maintanence guy in our apartment building announces over the intercom that "Due to routine maintanence, the water will be shut off from 7:00am to 1:00pm today." WTH? He waits until after the flipping water is turned off to let us know? It's not an emergency, it's "routine maintanence", so he could have announced it 15 or 20 minutes before the water was turned off so I could have made some coffee. So since I'm in caffeine withdrawal and especially witchy at the moment, I won't be replying to any posts right now. Hopefully I'll feel better after I can make some coffee...anyhow, thanks for letting me rant...

Ahh, how annoying! You don't need to take a shower this morning, do you?
I'm not sure where you live, could you nip out and buy a coffee? (I wouldn't do this! but is it an option for you?)
Well, I hope the time passes and you get your coffee soon. Do you feel better with coffee, then? I recently started drinking this drink called "wake up", it was called a coffee alternative and in a health shop, so I thought I was being healthy, but then I read it has a lot of caffeine so I guess it's the same thing just from nuts, or something. Not sure why I'm telling you this, lol. But the drink is nice and I have it each morning (well ok afternoon), not sure if it "wakes me up" but I tell myself it does.

Luckily my shower can wait until they turn the water back on; my group isn't until 6pm. I don't have a car so no way to go anywhere unless I take a cab, and I need my cab money to go to group tonight. I do feel better with coffee; I don't drink a ton of it, but I need about 2 cups to feel awake in the morning. I'm tempted to use my "flavored sparkling water" to make coffee but not sure if it is okay to use in the coffee machine. ugh.

Here's an idea, boil the water in a pan instead ... or, do you have something other than coffee granuals? We just boil the kettle and pour water on top of the coffee granuals but I think there is another way with some sort of coffee tab,, thing...

lol, deserpate measure eh, using flavoured water to make coffee, I guess you need your coffee fix! I do understand, though. You may as well give it a try, if coffee doesn't hurt the machine I doubt flavoured water would. (don't quote me on that though!)

I remembered that I have an old coffee machine that still works, so I tried the cherry sparkling water with chocolate cherry coffee...luckily the part that holds the filter has a vent; it was spitting out water LOL...but in the end it worked although the coffee is terrible. I added a ton of sugar and flavored creamer so at least it's tolerable.

Thanks again for letting me rant!

irony is we didn't have any water either. the signs for our street showed on the eve of the 26th we'd have no water, and the road 2 roads down would have no water on the eve of the 25th. Well, we got lumped with the 25th.

Luckily our fridge has an ice dispenser, which we melted to have drinking water. A little bit of water left in the geyser allowed me to brush my teeth, but i went to work without a shower

Never forget that in those 'extreme measures', there is always water in the tank of the toilet. It is the same water that comes in to your house. It may sound nasty but I live near the Gulf of Mexico coast. We learn where fresh water is when Hurricanes may break water mains, etc. Just a thought. If it creeps you out, but are still willing to try it, boil it for a few minutes, might do the trick. Of course if the water isnt clear, dont drink it
