I've noticed that when my anxiety is busy skyrocketing or is sky high, my hands tremble profusely...

I know that I have been experiencing a problem with trembling in my right hand since December 2008 after my X and I got into an extremely physical altercation, but it has never bugged me this much before!

Today I cannot do simple things like apply eyeliner or nail polish, I had to ask my poor BROTHER to do my nails, b/c I end up making a mess worse than a Preschooler.
When I do something like smoke a cigarette, the trembling is noticeable, people are always commenting on it...

Though I suffer from Panic Disorder, I was not prescribed anything for my anxiety, as I feel that, I'm managing.
I don't want to be taking cocktails I don't NEED,so I don't have meds to stop the shaking...

So in essence, I'm posting this thread to ask if the trembling is common and are there natural ways to make it stop or at least minimize it?

I know this is not a life-threatening emergency, or even really disrupting my life, but Any and all input will be greatly appreciated

A GREAT DAY TO ALL MEMBERS OF MY PC FAMILY

I sometimes shake - have you eaten a balanced diet, or too much/little sugar??

My diet honestly consists of junk.

I SOMETIMES have home cooked meals, when my mom decides to cook, and even then mostly out of guilt...

Been living on soup for the most part of this week, because it's healthier than the ready made stuff I get from the take out shops...

I have zero intake of fiber, and the only calcium I see is in coffee and cheese...

Sugar...I love sugar! but I haven't increased my intake. I don't even remember when last I had a chocolate...maybe it can be too little sugar?

I don't know, this is quite irritating as I can't even manage to type effectively...

If you think your sugar intake is low, either go to a chemist and have yr sugar levels tested, or have some sugar and see the difference.
Then you need to make a concerted effort to eat a balanced diet - even Woolies ready made meals for lunch is sometimes more healthy.
Time to now look after your diet and physical health, after you've looked after your mental well-being

Actually have a history of low blood sugar, as well as low blood pressure but never paid attention to it...
All it meant was that I was dizzy and tired a lot...

Maybe it's back with a vengeance...Think I should look into this?

YES!
And while you're at it, get a full blood test done too

I don't know much about blood sugar / low blood pressure...actually I know JS... all the GP did was gimme pills and tell me how to adjust my diet.
He never explained anything, and as soon as I felt better, I'd go back to eating junk.

This has been happening on and off for 10 years...
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction

and if it isn't the source/solution to my trembling, I think I'm gonna have to cut my hands OFF

I have this strange shaking with my right hand. My pdoc said it was related to one of my medications, but it is so annoying. My husband is relaly worried about it, so I am going to discuss it with my pdoc tomorrow. And I am on anxiety meds, so I don't know what the deal is. I will let you know what I find out tomorrow. If you do think it is anxiety, then call your pdoc. Good luck and take care.

You didn't say what meds you're on. Lithium, for one, will cause hand tremors. It was so bad I couldn't even hold a cup without spilling it. It went away after about 3 weeks, though.
Tell your doctor, who can let you know if it's a side-effect of your meds. If not, then he/she may refer you to a neurologist. Hope you feel better.

I don't think Trippin is on any meds yet - waiting for her first script to come through, and also couldn't read the writing of her pdoc to make out what she was prescribed.

Got an sms that they were sent 2day,don't know when they're supposed to arrive tho. I was prescribed Tegatrol and Lorien although the Lorien might be substituted with Nuzak (med/aid unclear, but pdoc said it's fine). So suga is right, it can't be any meds, just my anxiety. Thanx 4 the input though guys. Suga, I'm gonna have myself checked out tomorrow!

Yay for Trippin! I know how scary it is to finally bite the bullet and go see a doctor. I used to have sever doctor-phobia - lol! I hadn't even been to a GP for around 7 years when I had a friend suggest I go to a pdoc - eek!
Now I just do it. And I go the whole shebang - if you're going to have any bloods done, you may as well do a full test, with all hormones too.
Thinking of you!

Thanks Suga, I don't mind doctors, but I have a hectic needle phobia. Lucky for me I'm a smart girl, so I've figured out that the visuals freak me out instead of the actual injection and developed some coping mechanisms and techniques cos my contraception is inject-able

Will be seeing the nurse at 1:30... hope all is in order.

How are you feeling today???
