Oh I'm so glad I found a short post to answer I think that's a great question!! In a perfect world there would be no war, no abuse or neglect to any people or animals and everyone would have enough to eat and drink and a comfortable safe place to live and there would be no oil spills killing the wildlife and ruining peoples businesses. There would also be no pollution and all garbage would be compostable and everyone would get the healthcare they needed well actually it would be better if no one ever got sick but just died peacefully when they decided it was there time, I don't mean die by suicide or anything just they would say, ok I'm ready to go now God, and then die peacefully, you know? That's a great question I'm glad you asked it thanks!!!

I guess for me, a perfect world would be that no one feels despair to the point that something drastic happens. No one would suffer from addiction. Everyone would have good mental health and would have easy access to care if they started to feel off balance. Everything would be 'green' (environmentally healthy). Everyone would co-exist in harmony.
A perfect life for me would mean I had control over my illness. I don't even say I wouldn't have the illness because to be honest I've learned a lot about mental illness and about myself through this process. I would be able to do my job with ease like I used to. I'd have the money to get the treatment I need. I'd be able to have a family... husband and kids. I would be able to FEEL..... anything, good or bad doesn't matter just that I could experience emotion. This was a question I had been thinking about for a while. I thought I would post it because I learn a lot from your experiences and wanted to see everyone's perspectives. Thanks!!! |

All animals would be loved and cared for instead of beaten, abused, and left outside to die on their own.

In my perfect world there would be a cure for all cancers, HIV, AIDS, basically and terminal illness. No more wars. There would also be awesome pain medication that's not based on opiates or anything that could be addictive. There would be a way to replace one's whole spine. Everyone would have access to clean water, food, and shelter. People would have to apply for a baby license, if they would like to get pregnant. I can't decide if it would be better to put the birth control in the water, or just sterilize everyone when they're born....this would be needed to be done however you want to look at it, b/c if they are able to cure many diseases, people will live longer, and unless we invent deep space travel, we'll run out of resources/area, if the population increases and the average age of man increased. There would also be a way to download your memories to a hard drive, so you can't forget them (Good memories, not bad). Finally, everyone would ware a uniform (I get sooo tired of trying to figure out what to wear every morning, because I'm kind of obsessive about it).
Yes, I've thought about this waaaay too much. |

Why not just abolish disease, suffering, aging, and death altogether. And birth for that matter. We would just all be here enjoying life at say, physically age 35-45. Perfect number of people, no more. If someone really wanted to die, there would be a way, but difficult so it had to be pondered on long and hard. I agree with the "no pollution" that someone else suggested. We seriously need to stop all petroleum products. I thought about ending mental illness, but even with eliminating the most severe cases from ever developing, there would just be a new calibration where quirky or weird people would be seen as being ill. So then I'd say bar bigoted and judgmental attitudes. I'd still allow for a wide range of emotions, because sometimes it's proper to be angry and hate injustice so that things can be changed. And how can you know happiness without sadness or boredom for that matter. My ideal society would be based on the improvement of one's mind (a theft from Utopia, granted). People would live to learn. Not just to be knowledgeable, but to make life more rich with ideas and inventions. Less boredom if you're constantly learning and reaching to make your own and other peoples' lives better. We would explore the galaxy and the universe. Okay, waxing Roddenberry, so I'll stop there.
