Hi, I'm new so I hope this is going in the right place.

I've had BP2 for a while now and been thru good and bad times before... but this time I'm struggling with a nasty depression.
I was really hopeing that things were getting better... but I think they are getting worse, my doctors already up'd my antidepressants as much as he can but everything is still really crap.

I can't seem to get any work done and its stressing me out heaps. I really need to be able to finish this work really soon... It's already taken way to long.

Everything seems to be falling apart...

BlackPup....hear ya, and it's a crappy place to be.
I'm curious... you said that the doc has you on ADs. Only ADs? No mood stabilizer??? Is it a P-doc or a GP? I ask because of personal experience of having things go REALLY bad when I was just on ADs with a GP. Misdiagnosed + mismedicated = major mess.
Those were the red flags that popped out in reading your post. Hope you can find the key to getting things better -- that may be a place to start, and hope it's some help to you.

Glad you managed to sort out one major thing that was stressing you!

When did you start your meds? Do you also suffer from anxiety - do you take something for it?

Glad you are feeling better (((HUGS)))

I was diagnosed 3 or 4 years ago (its a bit of a blur) undiagnosed for 7
I have been on so many different drugs since then, to say my BP is treatment resistant is a bit of an understatement I also seem to be able to get every single side effect possible (including hypo and hyper thyroidism with Lithium!!!!)
My doctor is great - specialises in BP pharmacology... and things definitly have improved since then.
I normally only get anxious when I'm in a bit of a mixed episode... so I think this happened cos the depression was fighting it out with the new AD... I think the AD won ... but it was pretty messy for a bit and I so don't have the time to get depressed right now!!!!!

Thanks for all your kind words and support

Does a benzo or other anti-anxiety med not help a bit? I find they make me a bit dull through the depression, which I can tolerate better than real, suicidal depression

I think Lithium is frowned upon in Sout Africa, but I need to do some more reasearch into it. I'm currently on Sodium Valporate, which is OK, but I find that the rug can still be pulled out from underneath me too easily.
The next thing I'm supposed to be trying is Lamictin.

I hope you're feeling better- keep yourself and especially your mind occupied with other things and keep busy
Thanks for this!
