Do you all find that there are times in the course of a day when your brain has a tendency to operate faster? Not an episode, just in general... in relation to the tone of any given mode you happen to be in? Does this make any sense? For instance, overall my brain operates much much faster at night. I can be depressed, still be depressed, yet the brain is operating more quickly later in the day and into the night. If I'm off to the races, the synapses are snapping all day, yet in general the night is faster yet.
(It's probably related, but... not a morning person at all, definitely a night owl and can stay up as late as need be with no problem whatsoever. Yes, this is not good to do, just saying.)
Is there a time of day your brain has this tendency, and if so, when is it?
Do your energy levels correspond?

I am a morning person and do my best work before lunch. I work shift work as well, so it also depends what shift I'm on, but on a normal shift I am definitely a morning person. I am not a night person at all and require coffee to get through my shifts!

I'm not a morning person, nor a night owl, lol
I do find that at certain times my brain races, some time close to the middle of the day. It can be scary as there are just too many fleeting thoughts. I have recently started doing Soduko again, as I feel it focusses the brain activity on one thing and keeps me occupied while the brain is racing.

My best time to focus on anything complex is late evening. Probably 9pm to 1am is best. That is pretty much my middle of the day since I usually go to bed between 4am to 7am and sleep until noon or later.

Yes. After 8 p.m. I get speeded up in a psychomotor kind of way and have to time mood stabilizers to counteract this. It is also the peak time for 'intrusive song lyrics'! Usually these are pleasant enough the little imps can disrupt your peace of mind and make concentration a challenge.

Mornings are my peaceful, distracting time when I just get on the pc and check out of the real world for awhile. I prefer 5am-8am as thats when no one else in the world exists (it feels like) except the birds and absolutely no responsibilities to worry about. After that I tend to sink into a ruminative depressed state with my thoughts racing around in self depreciating circles. By the evening I am so worn down in my head but my thoughts crank up a notch and I have a hard time going to bed and/or falling asleep.

Even the idea of going to sleep. Nightmares, thoughts of missing something, thoughts of being helpless and incapacitated with the possibility of anything can happen to me and I wouldnt know cause I'm asleep, thoughts of the new day looming ahead and being another day of the same thing in my head....

Never have much energy though except when I hit a manic episode....
