I don't know when we will get the results.

I am feeling stressed.

I bet you are. Time must be moving pretty slowly for you right now. Maybe you can come up with a distraction to keep you busy and your mind off of it. When it does come to mind think positively about the results. I am a big believer in positive energy.

Believing for the best. Take it easy.

The MRI itself went well. He was like an old pro and they didn't even have to sedate him because he was able to keep still enough.

We got the results while we were driving home (Yay for cell phones) and it was a normal MRI.

This doesn't mean that he doesn't have neurofibromatosis, but it does mean that he has no involvement of the brain, brain stem and auditory and optic nerves. That can change over the years, but for now, I am breathing with relief.

So we will speak with his doctor soon and decide if we need to do any further investigation for NF.

I'm glad all went well and he had a normal MRI. I hope all goes well when you get back with his doc.

((BNLsMOM)) - I'm glad the MRI turned out negative. I didn't know your son has Neurofibromatosis. My husband brother has it - he was diagnosed 14 yrs ago. No one else in the family has it. This must be scary for your family. I hope he has the kind that's less damaging. Here's a website I found for support:

We don't know yet if he has it, but there are several indications, many cafe au lait spots and freckling in his arm pits. We have to take him to an opthamologist to check his irises for lisch nodules. Hopefully, if he has it, it will stay mild.

Thanks for the links. I'll check them out.
Thanks for this!

My BIL was diagnosed in his mid 20's - was a big shock to the family. Now I'm wondering if this could be passed on to my girls - I'll bring this up with their pediatrician. I'll have to look at the links myself because I'm wondering how they diagnose it - do you know? Unfortunately my BIL has the more serious kind that also grows internally. I pray your son doesn't have it and if he does, hopefully it will be the mild kind.
