Well the job I was so excited about was suppose to start today. I was up there about an hour when I found out that the position requires a car to make bank deposits. I wish they would have told me because I take the bus. Hence, I had to turn down the job.

Oh, and since I didn't inform the staffing agency that I don't have a car (like I tell all the people encounter that I take the bus just in case they didn't know I have a car), they won't give me other assignments because they need someone who can get to an assignment right away.

Is that kinda messed up or what? This really sucks! I hate this!

Feeling bummed about it though...

That is lousy nf.

If they required someone who had their own car they certainly should have let you know that right at the beginning. I would think that would be common practice, if not common courtesy... as it is they've wasted their time as well as yours, not to mention getting your hopes up like that.

Hoping for better for you real soon.

((((((((((((((nf))))))))))))))))))) You must be so disappointed. They should have told you all the qualifications of the position prior to hiring you. I am sorry that you are having to go through this. I will be thinking of you and wishing you luck in finding another job.

Thank you all for your support and understanding! I'm so glad you are all here! Even when people love you, they don't always understand the disappointment and the resolve to move on. You all do. I really appreciate that.

I start my job search again on Wednesday and will keep you all posted as to what happens.

So sorry, this job thing didn't work out.
Please, try to look at it this way, it may help a little, the job probably sucked, and it may be to your advantage it fell through. An old saying, but true, "where one door closes another one opens".
Perhaps, this gives you more time, and the right job for you is waiting for you, this may have actually given you a better opportunity. New Job Fell Through...
I know, this "flip flop" thinking thing, doesn't always work, but it may help. I am wishing that soon you your opportunity will arrive. Meanwhile, try to be kind to yourself, we care about you, and know that awful feeling(s) you may have at the present. Always feel free to talk to us, or even PM.
Sincerely,
DE

Sorry this didn't work out. It doesn't sound like this would be a very good place to work if it did -- not that that helps, really.

Thank you all for the support. I didn't have a good feeling about that job when I showed up. I wasn't interviewed before because it was a contract position. I feel both the employer and the company I would work for were messed up in their communication as well as snobby.

So perhaps that wasn't the job for me.

I've been getting public assistance for food, clothes, meds, and rent just in case I don't find anything for a couple of weeks.

I'm doing much better. Got meds and food stamps today, rent on Friday...

Will keep you all posted.

Wish me luck

Sorry about the whole job thing. I know this sounds trite..but maybe something better is on it's way.
I don't always believe in looking @ the other side or looking for the window when the door is shut but maybe if it works for you there is hope for me.
Any way, it stinks and I am sorry!
