Has your pdoc or tdoc ok'ed it?
I went to a very emotional study and fortunately I had a pdoc appointment before I went back. She told me that it would be very bad for me.
I had felt upset but hay the stuff that was shared was upsetting. I don't know if I would have bailed if I hadn't talked to her.
Is someone you know coming too?

I haven't heard of this type of therapy before, but checked it up online. I think it's worth giving it a try. I did do a very intensive group therapy program 8 hours / day 4 days a week for 3 months. It was lead by Psychiatrists, Social Workers and Psychologists. All aspects of my life were dissected. It was really hard, emotional etc., but it truly saved my life. My experience in any therapy, but especially group therapy is you get out what you put in. I was extremely nervous my first day, but it did get easier every time I went.

Good Luck and keep us posted.

Sounds interesting, so please give us feedback. I'm not sure if group therapy in general is something I'd like to take part in...

hi all, so i went to the group. He wasn't that bad actually. We had to fill in a questionnaire about how we've been feelin in the last 2 weeks and stuff like that. As it was the first group they jus told us about the group and what mentalising meant. Its basically basically how we think about and see ourselves from the outside and how we think about and see others from the inside instead of how we are on the inside and how we see others from the outside and how we judge them, if that makes sense. So they will help us to gain techniques that will help us cope with everyday situations. I'm glad i went but i had to have a private chat with one of the clinical psychologists about my questionnaire because i scored high on some points which concerned her. And thought my safety may be at risk so now we going down some other channels to get the right help i need for my bipolar which i'm glad about. Take care all

I'm glad you decided to go and it went well. It does sound like an interesting concept and most people would benefit from it; I know I would!

It sounds well moderated and you have professionals to consult as you did. I am so glad it will be a safe place for you.

yeah, it is a safe place and their is to keep it that way. Its not a type of group where we all talk about our experiences and problems which is good in a way, its more of a group for us to gain skills to help us with everyday things. I'll let you know how next week goes. Thanks guys
