I have been physically drained all week. The smallest tasks are zapping the little bit of energy I have. My eyes are heavy, my body is heavy, I can't sleep at night and can't stay awake during the day. I get dizzy when I bend down and get up. I get dizzy when I turn my head. Ifeel like my eyes aren't focusing on things..... I also think my immune system is down because I seem to be catching a cold on top of it. I have never felt this way before. I hardly ever get colds.

Blah.

I don't think you're dying. Find the side effects sheet that comes with the script and see if your symptms are there.
Thanks for this!

It sounds a lot like side effects to me as well. Especially the lethargy, I have definitely felt that exact same way.
Thanks for this!

could very well be a sinus infection, imho. i have never had but one but your symptoms sound familar. i had no stuffy nose or anything, went to doc cause i felt horrible, sleepy, etc. and she put me on anti-biotics. fixed that!
so i'd check in with your GP. hopefully it's easy to remedy. feel better soon.

Hiya

What meds are you on? It could also be a sinus infection as someone else said. I suffer from them and they can make you feel pants.

BNLsMOM, If you haven't done so already I encourage you to contact the Dr. that prescibed the medication. It is important to address all side effects right away. If it is not a side effect than you can take care of what is causing these symptoms. I hope you take care of yourself.

I put in a call to my p-doc. She has been maintaining and tweaking, but the doctor who originally prescribed the meds to me did so on the inpatient unit. I am not totally sure how to get in touch with him. I did have my husband put a call in to my p-doc's cell phone last night while I was puking my brains out. I am just waiting for her return call.

I didn't take my meds last night because I would have just puked them all up, and I woke up this morning feeling better and more rested than I have since this all started. About a half hour after I took my morning meds I began to feel cloudy again, not as bad, because the higher dose is out of my system.

So one theory is that the meds are too much. Another theory is that it is a blood sugar thing because I usually feel more cloudy/tired/dizzy after meals. Another theory is that I picked up some sort of virus at the hospital and it is taking a while to shake it.

My p-doc called and told me that I could try to take my higher dose of Depakote every other day instead of every day and see if I can tolerate it. She is surprised that I am having such a harsh reaction to such a small increase.
Thanks for this!

I'm glad you're discussing your issues with the relevant professionals. Side-effects should wear off over time. Failing which, everyone needs to accept that these meds, or at least these dosages, are not for you.
Keep us updated. I can imagine how hard this must be, especially as you've just come out of the hospital and need to fit back into the normal swing of life. You are in my thoughts

maybe it is a combination of meds/ blood sugar and illness. When you get sick it can mess with your blood sugar and some drugs can increase your chance of having blood sugar problems... Also when you are depressed it can present in lots of different ways. hope you can find the answer

Might be the depakote; I got really sick on that, but don't take my word for it. Like some of the others have said, it might be a combination of factors. Hope you start feeling better soon, dear. Huggs!

I feel a little better as far as fogginess, etc. goes. I am still experiencing symptoms that could be either anxiety related or due to blood sugar. I am going to ask for all the relevant testing on Friday when I go to my appointment.

This afternoon I was having serious panic attacks. Ouch.

The panic attacks are NOT cool, but glad soem of the other symptoms are lifting. Are you still on some of your original meds, or have you stopped them all?
If you've been on the same meds for a while, and been ok, it is a bit strange thought you'd suddenly start feeling side-effects

Same meds, different doses. The only thing new is Trazodone.

I've been on Trazodone. it made me sleepy, so I took it at night, but it seemed to really help. With the anxiety, a bit of the depression too, and with sleeping.
Hmmm...I need a new prx of that.
