bipolar is most simply put as when you get episodes of depression as well as elevated moods called manias or hypomanias. one of these moods last at least 4 days (although some episodes can be shorter). Check on info sites for a full list of symptoms....

Hypomania is difficult to detect in oneself, often feels great. Depression can be fatigue -thinking, working - and living - is hard to manage.

Hi myoasis89 Here is a link to a booklet on bipolar from the Mood Disorder Society of Canada website. The booklet is on the left hand side and can be downloaded for free. http://www.mooddisorderscanada.ca/page/quick-facts

I would also suggest tracking your mood. I use this online one http://www.medhelp.org/land/mood-tracker

For a diagnosis I suggest speaking to a Psychiatrist. You can ask your GP for a referral. Hope that helps.
