Thanks. I feel stressed whenever my mother is around. She is 100% antisocial no matter what I do or don't or say or don't. My pdoc suggested today that may e my mom is bipolar. I said bipolar is no excuse for being mean!

At any rate, I so hope this works! Partly because Ive started seeing a man again that I dated briefly 5 years ago. Don't want to be unbalanced! Even though he probably helped develop geodon. Lol.

Concerning Geodon, the article on antipsychotics is 2 years old and needs to be updated to say that Geodon now has a "Black Box Warning" included in it's insert. But although it does have a black box warning it has helped me tremendously. Every year when I go for my physical my doc does an EKG to check my heart and so far so good. Hope Geodon works well for you. Did your pdoc say what dosage they'd like you to be on after adjusting them?

Geodon was a nightmare for me...made me so dizzy I could barely stand. I hope it works out for you in the long run...and that you are not alergic.

I see the black box warning has to do with dementia patients. My bad. Thought the black box warning had to do with how Geodon changes the heart's QT interval although these changes can also be life threatening. Either way, I'm not inclined to change my med because it keeps my symptoms at bay. What's happening that you feel you might be allergic? If you have hives/rash, itching or swelling call your doctor right away.

That's worrisome, Moose. Hope you talked to your doctor about it.

For me, Geodon at first made me dizzy and prone to fainting. The solution was drinking copious amounts of water all day (because Geodon was lowering my blood pressure and adding water increases the volume of your blood).

Now I tolerate it really well. The side effects of it were the least bad of all the atypical anti-ps for me. And there's only one of them that I haven't tried yet. Clozaril or something like that.

Hope you find what works for you. Best wishes.

That is good advice. I was going to say to stop taking it but I can't, think medical advice is against forum guildelines. Very good move calling the pharmacist
What other meds have you tried and have been alergic to?
Ever take Lamictal? How about Abilify? Both work wonders for me.

Seroquel I'm allergic to. Abilify I had tardiv diskinesia. Was an antibiotic I was alergic to which may be related to this. I think Lamictal -which I haven't tried but was my other option suggested by pdoc the other day- has a similar problem with alergic reactions which causes your skin to fall off! Which is why I picked Geodon because this had less of a chance of this reaction. There was one other which I had lactation with, too- Risperdal. Forget the name. I seem to be not good for antipsychotics. . Wonder what my pdoc will say Monday about this. Pretty soon Ill be on Haldol. *rolleyes*
