No fun! They assumed I was an alcoholic or drank a lot in college or was a fastfood junkie! I'm none of these. But I am trying to get my body used to the idea if food and I should stay away from fatty foods anyway ad they're going to cause pain again. Oh- and no pain meds when I needed them. Sent me home with a script but I'm afraid they'll constipate me.

Backward hospitals! I think they see I have Medicaid and assume I'm an idiot and a drug seeker or they see I'm bipolar 1 and assume i don't know what I'm talking about.

Sorry to hear! Hope things are sorted soon. And they take your situation as serious as it deserves to be

I am glad you got help though. Yes, they seem to immediately by first impressions form a judgement about the patient. I had a similar experience years ago with my back. I have severe arthritis in my back and this one time...and one time only, I could not stand the pain..well they immediately thought I was drug seeking.
Hope you are feeling better!

Oh no - gallstones are very painful. if you take some Colace or Milk of Magnesia with the meds you should be fine for the constipation. If it gets worse I would definitely see a regular dr.
Hope you feel better. |

Just went through gall bladder surgery in December. I empathize with the pain. Are they considering surgery? Sorry you had trouble with the docs in the ER. Fortunately, I didn't run into that problem at all.

They are considering it and j don't know what to think.
I haven't been able to eat. Broth, tea, jello... Always get more pain. I've forced some foods down- jello, broth, Ginger ale- but always pain. |

Oh, have the surgery. It is a relatively painless procedure. A heck of a lot less painful than the gall bladder attacks. Yuck.

I am more concerned with diet after having it removed. I've been through procedures before.

The surgery is done laproscopically now - in and out. Once it's done you can eat whatever you want. I wouldn't wish gallstone pain on my worst enemy.
Feel better! |

You will feel so much better if you get it removed. There were things that I couldn't eat before that gave me no problem after the surgery. Good luck!

Called dr. They called in zofran yesterday but I didn't realuze it. Seems they've stopped giving you the script. They just call it in. So I have to go back but that's ok because there's one more that I need too.

My friend tried everything for her bad gallbladder for 30 years. Finally when she got Medicaid she got it out. Now she's a new person. Too bad she's making up for lost time foodwise. She's gained a little weight now that she can eat what she wants.
I think you have some willpower though. I can see through her it is well worth the surgery. It was done outpatient and she was totally herself again in a week or maybe less than that. And she was 65. So I know you can handle it. ![]() |

Eating a bit more. Nothing major- very low-fat turkey. Eggs w/o yolks. Still queasy - zofran fixes that.
