This is strange...one night i had just got out of the shower and i have a big mirror over my sink..And through the mirror i can see the TV...Well as i was drying off i just happen to look up and looked in the mirror at the TV and saw black shadows going across the bottom of the TV...It scared me so bad...Then one night i was in my office( at home) which is next to the kitchen and i saw something black moving very slowly to my left..I was home alone that night...I just got up and went into my bedroom and locked the door...I have seen the shadows about 3 times in the TV. I talked to my T about this and she said because i had not been sleeping and my mind was playing tricks on me...I dont know what to think..But i dont have the TV on anymore if i'm in the bathroom...It only happened when i looked through the mirror at the TV...Just thinking about it gives me chills.Cause it looked so real to me .Now if i'm not sleeping good i think those shadows will return...What does it mean?

Hi there,
Hallucinations definitely are scary! When I was manic, I would see shadows as well, but not through mirrors. I saw them mostly at night, going along the walls. I would also see "shadow people" randomly too. When I was put on seroquel, these hallucinations went away. Definitely talk to your pdoc about this if you keep seeing these, and you know for sure they're not just a trick of the light or something. Keep us posted on how you're doing, OK? ![]() |

I also see shadow people, but I have schizoaffective. I see lots of things without meds. With meds, however, I see nothing at all. Without, I see them whether I am manic or depressed or psychotic or nothing at all. I used to see black shadows moving out the corner of my eye. Full on people made of shadow. Shadows that were like ghosts moving through the air. Dogs at the top of the stairs that weren't there. People standing behind me that when I turned around there was just a brief black shadow. Lots of black hallucinations, I guess. I've only seen a few hallucinations in color. One was a man in an orange-ish suit and spats from the 20's standing right beside me, like right up against me, and the other was a little victorian girl running through my house laughing and playing. But, yeah, mostly black shadows. I would definitely tell your pdoc about it.
