seroquel has been kicking my butt since i started it a couple months ago. Makes me so tired (unless i'm on a manic trip). Hear is the funny part. This week it has me sleeping so heavy that i wet the bed twice! Anyone else have (care to admit) this problem?

Seroquel is a sledge hammer. I'm surprised I never wet the bed, with some of my 16 hour sleep marathons. Once I got used to it, it wasn't as bad.

I use seroquel 300mg nightly and 600mg during PMS week and I'm lucky enough to sleep more than 6 hrs without waking up several times. With that I'm taking Xanax ER 2mg each night. I guess for me, its because I'm regularly on the manic side of the fence on a regular basis and when I swing high I'm out of control, With a Large dose of several resque meds. I have heard about seroquel be a knock out, wish it was that way for me.

I've managed to get down to 300 seroquel, and I'm going to hang in here for another few weeks, then see if I can take it down again. Because I'm still very tired on it... and fat! I hate being tired and fat all the time!

It was making me feel hungover in the morning, but now I have adjusted to it. And it's not working. Nothing seems to work...

I am on seroquel with effexor and klonopin as needed. Just to clarify. Trying to stay strong and positive. Lithium did nothing for me, either.

my only advice is keep a strong line with your p doc. That is the only thing that has kept me sane. And i am extremely lucky to have an understanding wife. And beer.

i'm back on seroquel but now i'm taking the xr (extended release) at a low dose 300mg. I am not gaining weight like I did on regular seroquel and the drowsy feeling only lasts for an hour after I get up.
unfortunately the xr version is more expensive and I'm having probs with insurance covering it. i'm doing samples from the doc right now. |

Funny thing, I use seroquel for sleep, right now I take 400mg but in the past I got it down to 150mg. XR givings me a hung over feeling. I wish I didn't have to take it, but I can't sleep otherwise.

I've been taking Ambien for about three years. A year ago my pdoc prescribed 300 mg of Seroquel, which has since been halved to 150. At the time he mumbled something about possibly not needing the Ambien, but I was so used to a good night's sleep that I didn't even think about going off it. Recently, bedtime switched from early evening to about 1-2 am (for lots of reasons). It took a while to realize it, but I was closing my laptop and never making it up the stairs to the bedroom. Eventually, I sleepwalked my way up there, but not before I did alot of sleepeating as well. Scary.......weird. I halved the Ambien. Now I make it upstairs usually fully conscious, but once I fall asleep I wouldn't hear a fire alarm go off. I never hear my hubby's alarm clock at 3:30 am..........the time he has to get up to leave for work. I get up late.....really late.....because I'm in and out of consciousness, which is fine with me. I have a very dry, metallic tasting mouth that came along with the Seroquel. Oh.......the joys.........

Well, I've been so sick of the hangover in the morning, that last night I cut it by fifty... and I managed both to sleep and to get up in the morning. On the other hand I've been having the most crippling gut pains, and (ahem) loose green stools, nausea, have been ratty as all hell, and kept seeing things. This didn't happen on previous reductions... but then I haven't been on less than three hundred in eight to ten months... I REALLY want to come off it now, I'm so sick of being fat.

I have that metallic taste too. Funny, I thought it was just me... And I am fat. And it's still not working. Oh the joy.

When I was on it, it helped me a lot (I got switched due to money, but I hope to get it back when I get insurance); BUT there are a few funny things...
-When I met my boyfriend's parents, I kept switching words and forgetting the rest of my sentences. They also expected us to be ready to go on a trip at 7AM and I simply was a zombie. My boyfriend's Dad is a retired psychologist, so I was terrified he would pick up on my symptoms. Luckily, he attributed it to my body clock. -I went camping and was FREEZING and took a Seroquel before trying to sleep. I kept waking up, but couldn't move. Well, in the morning it got warmer and my body simply knocked me out for hours. When I woke up, I did pee a little because my bladder was so full. I blame it on the Seroquel because off of it, I would have woken up before that even happened! -I have had dreams where I am wetting the bed and could "feel" it physically or felt as if I was wetting my pants during the day; however, I never did. It was a weird sensation (it was the same sensation I got when they put Barium in me before an X-Ray). |

Yes I have once, I took my Lasix late at night and forgot I had, and boy did I pee it. I had only had the mattress a week lol, Seroquel is the only med that has allowed me to get 8 hours of uninterupted sleep, I thank God for it.

I take 600mg seroquel which used to knock me out but now I am used to it, so I now take 7.5mg of Zopiclone to help me sleep. Have to admit though, I struggle to be up before 1pm every day

I'm reducing seroquel at the moment, and boy have I been running back and forth to the bathroom. I don't want to give too much information, but let's just say, when you soil yourself at my age, not once but several times, you know for a fact something's wrong!
